Just heard from a Demo acquaintance that this whole thing has been set up for over a week, it's been a charade, Dingy knew all along, the idea is to quash Bush's SOTU speech by stealing the news cycle, plus it shores up the Dem base, plus, the Dems are convinced that Frist doesn't have the guts to pull the trigger.
The dominoes do seem to be falling with regularity, but I'm not convinced...I think he's caught up in wishful thinking.

They do it to appeal to their lunatic fringe base. Find a cause that you know is going to fail. Jump onboard and ride it down. Look like a hero to your looney base, and score lots of brownie points because you were trying sooooooooo haaaaard to "do the right thing." (Barf!!)

LOL; I sent Senator Feinstine an email this afternoon making just this point; now that she has changed her mind I asked her why, and then answered my own question. That is had to do with money from the NAGS and other pro-abort groups...and her party dares to call Republicans the party of corruption? 1. Support Filibuster
a. If it doesn't work, it'll be forgotten and the failure won't be blamed on her.
b. If it does work, and the nuke option fails, she's a hero.
c. If it does work, and the nuke option comes through, if she wins the presidency it allows her to really go wild on her own appointments.
It's a tie-win-win for her.
