SORTED ALPHABETICALLY BY STATE
APPROVAL RATINGS FOR ALL 100 U.S. SENATORS AS OF 1/26/06
(Excerpt) Read more at surveyusa.com ...
The most unpopular Senator at this time is Conrad Burns (R-MT), who has a 42% approval rating and 51% disapproval rating.
Other Senators who aren't well-regarded by their constituants are Frank Lautenburg (D-N), with a 44% disapproval and 40% approval rating, Rick Santorum (R-PA), with a 46% disapproval and 44% approval rating, Mel Martinez (R-FL), with a 43% approval and 42% disapproval rating, Jim Bunning (R-KY), with a 43% approval and 44% disapproval rating, and Jon Kyl (R-AZ), with a 44% approval and 39% disapproval rating.
The one that sticks out to me is Barbara Boxer. Her Moonbats are restless on the Left Coast.
Who or what is Survey USA ??
But I did get a laugh out of Lautenberg's ratings.........his disapporoval is higher than is approval.
Somehow I doubt this poll has any validity at all.
Interesting point. She has never been all that well regarded even in California, but she always wins reelection by comfortable margins.
There's a disturbing amount of Democrats and RINOs in the top of the 'highest net approval' chart. We may dispise them, but they are apparently in pretty safe districts.
'districts' should be 'states.' Whoops.
I suspect survery shenanigans. There are a surprising number of Marxists near the top and reliable conservatives near the bottom. If the survey were neutral you would expect relatively equal distribution for all senators elected fairly by their constituents with election thieves near the bottom (because support for them in their district wasn't as strong as the win should indicate, or because the public suspected the corruption).
That's a bummer about Jon Kyl's approval numbers. It must be because he doesn't get much press here, except from the leftist Arizona Republic. I've got more respect for Kyl than practically any other politician I've ever heard about. Right up there with Reagan, which is why Kyl probably gets dissed in the local paper.
100 Senators, only 16 have under 50% approval ratings! Yet all we hear is about how much everyone hates the Republicans and are going to sweep them out of office. I guess not. Seems the same old saying applies. Everyone things YOUR guy is scum but THEIR guy is great. The Senate, the place where virtually everything on the Conservative agenda goes and dies while the Whine all the Time choir rants about Bush has a HIGHER approval rating then the people TRYING to get the job done!!! The countries is finished. Simply amazing how sheep like the masses are.
The local Democrats love him. Combined with a small number of Republicans who like him, it bumps his numbers.
Weekend polling. Even Zogby, the Leftist pollster, admits weekend polling helps Dems. Not real sure why that is other then Repbs apprently have lives and do stuff on the weekends while Dems sit around waiting to be polled.

He reminds me of a Senator we had here in NC: Lauch Faircloth. Dependably conservative, but a wooden speaker and poor campaigner. Like Faircloth was when he lost to John Edwards (!), Burns is 70-ish but looks and acts older.
Likely voters is what matters. "Adults" is practically meaningless.
"We may dispise them, but they are apparently in pretty safe districts."
Yeah, they wouldn't behave so outrageously if they were in any jeopardy back home.
Want to really blow a gasket? Look at Kyls JA number. Weekend polling always slants left
That's what I was trying to say. I think the survey results are in question with respect to the senators' popularity in their own states. I know a lot of people in AZ can't stand McPain. 71% approval is absurd.
The poll surveyed "adults", not adults with a record of voting. That makes the poll totally unreliable. Also, with respect to McCain's good showing, did the pollster have bilingual callers do the questioning? They most likely asked those who are not even in our country legally how they might rate a Senator.
...meaning they probably asked 400 eighteen year olds and after the obligatory...huh?..ya know...wut?...I mean...watever...they got the answer they wanted
Liberals HATE Cornyn because he is a true Conservative Repulican, and ACCEPT Hutchinson because she stands for nothing but Kay Bailey Hutchinson [aka; "worthless as 'you know what' on a Boar hog"] and is no threat their liberal positions.
Hutchison, Kay R Sr 63% 24% 39%
Cornyn, John R Jr 46% 31% 15%

That number seems a little high seeing that they were circulating recall papers on him not too long ago.
My two Republican Senators in Oklahoma get elected by around 60% of the vote and yet this poll says only 49% of Oklahomans agree with them. Give me a break!
If it has the word "Clinton" in it, it can't be trusted.
I am not quite so tough on Hutchinson as you are..
I am thrilled with John Cornyn. He is more popular than this poll shows ..I am sure.He makes me swell with pride that he is MY Senator every time he speaks..
She wins by releasing nasty lies about her opponents just days before elections, giving them no time to disprove them. Her charge about Bruce Herschenson's strip club visit is an example. Matt Fong was an innefectual Mama's boy wimp and his defeat is a monument to the stupidity of the people who are currently running the Republican Party here.
Is there any chance that Kay Hutchison will drop out of the race at the last minute? She wanted to retire and is said to be burned out on D.C.
Good question.
I tend to view some of these numbers as ludicrous. If Kyl has such a high disapproval rating, why are his reelect polling figures far and above that 44% approval ?
Kay Bailey orginially intended to run for Governor. However with Santorum's re-election chances sinking, the GOP Senate power brokers told her that she would take Santorum's position as the Number 3 GOP Senator.
