Kerry felt like he had to squash any attempt at voting, in order to preserve democracy.

members of the so-called Gang of 14 said they unanimously supported ending debate on AlitoYeah, that Gang of 14 agreement last year really was a bad move.

I'm beginning to think we need senate hearings each and every week from now until November, so that these left wing-dingbat senators can get plenty of airtime to expose their wacked out philosophies. Unfortunately, some are in states that the general public are also wacked out, but we can hope for those few who aren't and need to be voted out!

If you listen carefully, you can hear it all the way over here...the wailing, the gnashing of teeth, the rending of clothes. It's just simply....DELICIOUS.

So - will Alito be seated for the State of the Union address? That would be cool, because you know the President would mention him.

Some post-cloture thoughts:
1. The DU/KOS crowd will oscillate twixt spates of gutter language and attempts to council each other with comments such as, "I feel your pain!"
2. The move in the SCOTUS in matters of cases selected to be heard and decided will be away from a Federal role to an individual state role.
3. If conjecture #2 above is correct, we cannot be content with success at the Federal level alone. I live in a blue state (Michigan) and damn well do not want to have my rights abolished by local statists/collectivists only to see the tyranny of the majority upheld as a State right!
