A nonsensical comment. Since it was in response to a reporters question, I'll assume it means nothing, for now.
"You compared Bush to the most evil politician we've ever had to overcome (Clintons). Them's fightin' words."
Just the other day, Bush referred to Clinton as his "brother."
I guess you have to commit hari-kari now.
I just figured out a sure fire test for whether a politician's policy is right or wrong.
Simply state the policy.
If you are attacked by the politician's supporters for simply stating the policy fact then the policy is wrong and the supporters are ashamed of the truth.
I commented that Bush has entertained Abbas (a life long number two to Yasser Arafat) at the White House, and that Bush brags that he has called for the establishment of a "Palestinian" State.
Both absolute facts.
Also that Bush's empty boast that he will defend Israel from Iran (how?) to me has a ring similar to Clinton's. (In seems the poster in #87, independently from me, had a similar immediate thought.)
Stating facts now makes you a basher? Ironic, but to be expected by those who worship politicians as semi gods.
Amazing how deeply you understand politics, munchkin.
Underestimate GWB at your peril. You DUmmies never get it. You vote for Buchanan or McCain thinking how righteous you are, when the real reason you vote for one of the throwaways is because you're spineless.
The U.S. does not need to defend Israel. All they need to do is take the leash off.
Sadly, I'm beginning to wonder if Israel even wants to defend itself.
You are correct.
................
Taiwan spends a small fortune lobbying Washington so the U.S. will ride to its rescue in case of a Chinese attack. Yet more than four years after the U.S. offered a package of advanced defense weapons, politicians in Taipei still haven't decided to buy them. This isn't helping Taiwan's cause in Washington.
'snip'
But legislators in Taiwan have blocked any purchase plan proposed by President Chen Shui-bian. Some opposition politicians have even accused the U.S. of using the arms sales as a pretext to pursue a hidden agenda of demonizing China. Lien Chan, until last week chairman of the main opposition party, has argued the country can't afford the $15 billion price tag. But this doesn't wash for an island with per-capita income of $13,000 a year.

Made me think of the following 1972 movie
We have reasons far more pressing that the defense of Israel, which demand that we prevent Iran from having nukes.
I have never heard that before....hope there is some truth to that!
