New orleans has been around since 1718 folks most of yalls cities are realtive new borns. By the way Cities dont have a right to eternal life will be a great campaign slogan when we try to reelect Republican David Vitter, or Relect Republican JIndal. Oh and this is going to big hit with Republican voters in Jefferson and St Tammny , and St BErnard Parish come the Presidental election time. Keep the helpful slogans coming

"Keep the helpful slogans coming"

Do you really think that LA voters will be influenced by banter on a FR thread?

Ah. So in order to win over the people in your state, a pubbie has to tell them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

Which wouldn't be all that bad except that y'all are also asking for so much of our tax dollars.

I'm not condemning New Orleans; it is in a very precarious situation, though. Moreso than the Netherlands or Venice, neither of which have to contend with hurricanes, but are apparenlty better prepared to deal with the inevitable, and both predate New Orleans by quite a bit.

Sorry - we've got you beat. Detroit was founded in 1701, so "we - alls" have been around longer than "yalls".

It's hardly Olde Orleans, but the swamp has outlived it's Newness. Time to build a real New city on dry land. Then it would be New Orleans.

Look, your governor just called another Special Session of the state leg that even the legislators are puzzled over. There is nothing going down in this session that could not be covered in regular session. Special Sessions cost $$$$$. Louisiana is addicted to spending money on nothing....even now.

As I told you last night on another thread - I want good things for Louisiana but demanding that we play nice with your state or Republicans won't be elected is a bit over the top. I was not impressed with Vitter or Jindal as Republicans immmediately after the hurricane anyway.
