Jed Babbin: Rockefeller IS the source of the leak on the NSA wiretaps..will he take a polygraph?

Turned on the radio, happened to catch the last segment of the John Batchelor show. He was interviewing Jeb Babbin....who many of us know and respect, and read his columns. I was absolutely stunned by what Babbin just said...hadn't seen/heard it anywheres..and thought it merits reposting for your benefit....

Concur...I read the suspicions..but there is a big differnece when someone comes out and says it in the record..as just happened toniught..and it does explain Rockefeller's weird statement accusing the WH of the leaks..

Sandy Bergler was caught with classified documents stuffed in his pants and socks, and he admitted destroying some others, and all he got was a slap on the wrist, a small fine, and the loss of his security clearance for 3 years (if I remember right).

I never listen to him. I turned in early, with a book, and put the radio on to catch up on the pre-SB hype...it was on WABC from Rush today..so I hear this, and I'm amazed..

Perhaps the point, as has been pointed out, is to use various surrogates to make Rockefeller sweat, and make a mistake.

I've always thought that "letter" that he wrote to himself was composed post-December 16 and was phony as hell. But, in reading macsblog, apparently Risen knew about it while writing his book.

It brings up interesting points. What if there are actual traitors, people who hate this country and will commit treason to destroy it? The left of course will cry McCarthyism in an attempt to discredit the idea of treason.

Does anybody in the government have the balls to prosecute these traitors? I can hardly wait to hear the hue and cry from Hollywood and the MSM if they should try.

If he actually did it he should fall on his sword literally, and right away, as that would be the best thing for the Congress and the country. However, knowing the arrogance of most Congressmen I doubt that "doing the right thing" is in their vocabulary.

You're correct..Babbin said that polugraph results are not admissible, but he reiterated that under the code of secrecy, or whatever it is they sign..FAILURE to submit to a request for a polygraph is immediate grounds for loss of security clearance and access..

I heard the whole segment with Babin as well. I am afraid that the Bush Administration, and their get along/go along attitude, will prevent them from going "nuclear" with this. Any doubt the dems would love to hang Roberts if he was the ranking member and Rockapooper was the chair?

A polygraph would be almost as useful as a Magic 8-Ball.

They aren't even admissable in court.

Maybe a voice-stress analyzer would work, but you have to remember that Dems lie for a living.

The prospect of Durbin, Rockefeller and Wyden refusing to take a polygraph makes smile REAL BIG.

I wonder, Barrister.....what if they don't refuse and lie to every question put, including the baseline?

Remember how scared Rockefeller looked during the week that the Democrat Senate Intelligence Committee memo came out? He was seriously afraid for his job until the other Democrats shifted the focus away from the contents of the memo towards how the memo was found.

The Republicans let him slip off the hook back then. It obviously emboldened him to go further. Are the Republicans going to do it again?

This should be a no brainer for the White House. If you believe the polls, the American public do not trust the Rats with National Security and they are the wrong side on the issue of eavesdropping. Indicting or even opening an investigation of a Rat Senator(s) or his/her staff members would put the Rats is a box they may never,ever be able to get out of. Hello Whig party and Know Nothings of the 19th century!

If the shoes were on the other foot and it was a Rat in the White House and a GOP Senator that leaked something like this. The MSM and the Rat White House would have already strung up the rope.

No more Mr Nice Guy with a party that is becoming an enemy of to the security of this country and thus the Free World.

"Leaks Undermining The War On Terror"

Senator Jay Rockefeller, in my opinion, is the leaker of the NSA program.
He is the first high ranking government official mentioned in the article the NY Times broke about the NSA.
He is the first to publicly express his concerns of the legality of the program, after 18 months of knowing and being briefed on the program by Admin. officials.
He is the first to suddenly reveal a sealed letter to the VP expressing he had concerns about the program, but not once mentioning any concerns to the officials closest to the program.
He was the first to call for accountability of any wrong doings.
And now he is the first to try and deflect attention from finding the leaker and instead blaming the Bush admin.
I have another prediction and I can almost see it coming. Senator Jay Rockefeller will be the first high ranking government official to "speak" to the author of the original NSA article by the Times, James Risen about other matters relating to his book but will not be able to remember whether or not the subject of the NSA spying program was ever discussed.

If Jed Babbin turns out to be correct, it would be great opportunity to send a message to all other "Sen. Hanson." That message being, you leak, you die.
