Where? I have explained it twice already, but if I need to a third time OK. Jesus never told you handle snakes and drink poison as you have implied and stated. Jesus said these signs will follow. Two different things.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
So if I don't speak in tongues I am not saved?

Speaking in tounges always sounds like spiritual Tourette's Syndrome.
That's a good way to put it - God is not the author of confusion, but of peace...(I Co. 14:33) When I see/hear people speaking in tongues or having a fit in services they are more concerned about people seeing and hearing them get 'in the Spirit', rather than giving God any glory.

I don't see the distinction between verse 17 and verse 18 I haven't distinguished between them. Where have I stated that Jesus told people to speak in tongues? Jesus just said those signs will follow. I don't see handling snakes, drinking poison, or speaking in tongues as a neccessity. They are all signs. In fact, you are not suppose to seek them.
To: WKB
So if I don't speak in tongues I am not saved? Speaking in tounges is not evidence of salvation, it is evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Millions are saved who do not speak in tounges.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents;
Is there a different word used in the original text
for the word shall in verse 17 than the one in verse 18?

That would apply to those who do so privately as well?

I was born into a Jewish home. I went to the Berklee College of Music. I was playing the saxophone and started speaking in tongues. I am now the Assistant Pastor at Boston's United Pentecostal Church And that is how tongues is suppose to work. It is suppose to be a sign for non-believers.

That mean ole Holy Spirt didn't fill me
when I accepted Jesus as my Savior on July
21 1985. I am going to have a talk with him about that.

I answered in 68 if you would give me time to respond before repeating your questions. You seem to have to ask the same question three times.
To: WKB
No need for "tongue speaking".
We have the Bible.

Assembly of God would tell you that if you don't speak in tongues... you have not been filled with the holy spirit. And then the serious ones will quote the text that says if we're not filled with the spirit, that we are not truly saved.

To: WKB
Woah.
I accepted Jesus as my Savior that very same week!
Cool.............
And your question is better answered by a panel of "experts" from various denominations who have studied that sort of thing to exhaustion. I used to deal with that question, but it made my head hurt.
I finally decided to just allow God to be God and follow Him according to the Scriptures and what He would have me do.
