I bet he sends Christmas hams to the refs for the next five years.

"I was so mad that we lost the game," Roethlisberger told Letterman. "I kind of went into a depression and didn't shave and we ended up winning the next game. And I am kind of superstitious -- just a little bit to people who know me -- but we won that game and I said I am just going to keep it going until we lose and we kept it going.

Heres to future depressions for Ben.

so while the steelers and media go on about who did what and how they won the game, it was really because of a beard

They played better than the Seahawks but they did have a "lucky" draw with the referrees too.

The season is over, Ben. Please go away until August.

What a relief - Letterman used an electric rig. I wouldn't want that nut case near me with a razor!

Let me say once again: To heck with the refs and the 'controversy' over calls and such. The Steelers went on the road for four consecutive games and beat everyone in front of them. They are the deserving champions.

Why has the press been so hesitant to criticize the worst officiating I have ever seen in an important game? And I am a big fan of the Bus.

Because they make huge money off the NFL, especially ESPN hosting "Monday Night Football" next year. ref calls like the league had this year, hurts the reputation of the NFL.

" To heck with the refs and the 'controversy' over calls and such."

Some of these people that are whining about the Steelers winning remind me of the liberals that call into CSPAN's Republican line and say they are switching parties because of George Bush. I don't believe them when they say: "I'm a Steelers fan but I think Seattle got robbed". That being said, I was raised in Ohio and have always rooted against the Steelers and the Pirates. I was rooting for the Bengals..the Steelers beat them. I was rooting for the Colts..the Steelers beat them. I was rooting for the Broncos..the Steelers beat them. Sunday was the first time in my life I ever rooted for the Steelers. Primarily because my wife is a diehard fan. And the fact that they had shown more grit than any other team in the league.

Were there bad calls? Of course there were. There are in every game I have ever seen. I'd say the bad calls were maybe 60-40 in favor of the Steelers. Not, IMHO, enough to change the outcome by the amount of points for the Seahawks to win. And, I haven't heard anybody mention the obvious Seattle fumble that was called an incomplete pass. The whiners need to congratulate the Steelers and get on with their lives.

What are you talking about? The press has been doing nothing but whining about the officiating. Listen to ESPN or read non-Pittsburgh papers, and tell me they are "hesitant" to criticize the refs.

You're quite wrong, FRiend. I happen to be really pleased that the AFC won the Stupor Bowl.

Too bad you weren't watching the same game as everyone else. More like 90-10 against the Seahawks!

I watched him on Dave's show, and even Roethlisberger thought it was not a touchdown - right from the horse's mouth.
