You don't get it. Wilson is doing exactly what the White House wants her to do. This is an election year. Bush is just using Congress to jab Democrats in their ribs.

The Dems go screaming, we get them on tape.

In the fall, the Dems wont have any money, so to combat all the commercials against their anti-war stance, they will be forced to take money from the wing-nuts, and produce over-the-top responses which will only serve to drive them further from the electorate.

Has no one paid attention to the past election cycles?

Yeah, I watch the election cycles. On the other hand I've seen Olympia Snow and her running dog lackeys at work too.

It's easier to believe this Wilson woman is taking care of #1 than that she has any interest whatsoever in "W"'s political reputation.

You are going to feel silly when you see Bush and Wilson standing together at campaign events. But you probably wont feel as silly as the Democrats will.

WHO IS HAPPY ABOUT THIS SURVEILLANCE PROGRAM BEING MADE PUBLIC?

1. The Mainstream Media
2. The Democrat Party
3. Al Qaeda

Any questions?

"Expect everything they heard to LEAK shortly."

Would dearly love to catch the leakers, and am hoping that the WH has already written this program off and has gone to Plan B.

And how will that affect Democrat polling numbers, when two thirds of the country believe that surveillance of enemies is good and proper and reasonable? This issue will go away because it is a loser for Dems.

Good! What good would it do for her to go on Fox? I wish FReepers would read Sun Tzu or some other references on warfare.

The even understand this at the NY Times. While Democrats are running around screaming at the top of their lungs, the Times is warning Democrats that they are about to blow it again.

We are lucky that the Dems are probably too stupid to listen. The Democrats are BROKE. When our attack comes, they wont be able to respond in force, and will go down again.

It's another rope-a-dope again! The dems never fail to fall for it.

After all their whining .. the WH concedes .. and the first person who leaks ANYTHING ABOUT THIS INFO will be finding themselves indicted for leaking classified info.

Good luck dems .. hope you take the bait!!

Who's ripping Harman a new one, the DUmmies or Lehrer and his gang? And why are they going after her, is she defending the program (i.e. not howling for Chimpeachment)?

That seems to be for real:

Oh please. The program is not public. If you think it is, tell us all about it. I'll be waiting for your report.

The publication of its existence, making its use known as a weapon in the War on Terror made the program "public", particular details of the implementation and mechanics notwithstanding.

President Bush, IIRC, called such revelation "descipable" in his first news conference after the Wa comPost published the news.

My assertion stands: the press, the 'rats, and Al-Qaeda are very very happy the news of this program leaked.

"I don't think the White House would have made the decision that it did had I not stood up and said, 'You must brief the Intelligence Committee,'" she said.

Well, isn't SHE Ms. Tough Cookie?

OK, then, Congress, the ball is in your court. We'll just see how long it will be before this info gets leaked to the press. THEN the President will have some real ammo when he says that he'll not tell you anything else because you and your staffs cannot be trusted to keep your big fat mouths SHUT!

LOL. No, you didn't. But the publication describing the ability to wirelessly tap international calls from within the USA wasn't helpful to the War on Terror.

I'll believe the President when he said leaking the existence of that secret program was a reprehensible act.

Again, who is happy about the leak? The MSM, the 'rats, and Al Qaeda.
