The reason federal law prohibits judges from retroactively wiping out such debts is ,because of law (I term) "The 666 law"

Here is a news article about this law.

Souter was convicted for the 1979 murder of 19-year-old Kristi Ringler near White Cloud. But years later, a woman came forward saying Ringler was actually hit by a motor home. So the guy is jail FOR MURDER, when the victim was killed by a WINNABAGO???? How does a corner confuse the cause of death between the 2? Sue to corners office for a few million for that screw up!

Souter is sueing the people for millions in false arrest, etc - he will just tack this on and the people will pay for it.

I think he ought to sue the woman who knew the truth during all the years he was in jail but did not come forward. Make her come up with the $38000 and then some.

It still doesn't answer the question as to how the police could confuse a murder with getting run over by a motor home.

This should be an easy win for a lawsuit against the offending state. The prosecutor's office and the associated law enforcement department should be required to split this bill between them, from their respective operating budgets. :-)

Larry was a truck driver, and from 1987 til 1992 he didn't miss paying child support (5 yrs).
His two childrens must be over 19+ yrs of age by now ?

He drove a semi. Not so hard to confuse running over a pedestrian.

If the mother has any sense of decency she'll let him off the hook. If she was on welfare or received other assistance from the State, she cannot let him off the hook because it becomes the State's debt.

"How does a corner confuse the cause of death between the 2?"Did he put down that she was apparently struck by a blunt instrument? If so, then I see no problem...
