He understands exactly the situation that America faces, he has the experience of knowing the effect that yellowbellies in Congress can have on the morale of our troops, he knows what is at stake in the global War on Terror, he's from Texas, he's a Republican, and he's not afraid to kick Murtha's ass up one side and down the other.

Googled Sam Johnson. Born October 11, 1930. Would make him 75 years old today, and in November of 2008 would make him 78. Wonderful man. As for the Presidency, time has passed him by. I knew, when I saw he was in both KOREA and Vietnam, we are looking at an oldster. No offense to the great Congressman...
The man is far too solid to be a politician. Thank God we have some like him. Unfortunately there are none like him coming up in the ranks in either party. Perhaps some principled veterans of afghan/irag will enter politics. Civilian life doesn't produce these kind.
