According to former FEMA Director Michael Brown the White House knew New Orleans levees were breached the day Hurricane Katrina hit. Brown says FEMA was on top of the problem, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

You are right the real blame should fall on the state congressional delegation (who arranged for and received federal money for many years to safe guard levees) along with Blanco and Nagen. The poll is useless because these choices are omitted.
Doesn't matter....52%.
Really now, what do you expect from this source? Hard enough to read the newspapers nowadays, 6th graders can write better, now we have to take half-a$$ polls. OOPS..That is..... we are forced to Freep occasionally.
Truly.
Bulls-Eye, American Quilter!
Clinton has had his finger in the Dyke. Not sure he ever got any farther with Hillary though.
That polls question are so skewed there is no answer there.
Awh, come on. You gotta love these "Heads-I-win-tails-you-lose" kind of polls.
I've now listened to two radio newsbreaks calling Bush a liar, claiming that he actually knew about the levee break a day ahead of his actual claim. This isn't even what Brown said. While he claims to have emailed the "WH" about the levee break, Bush wasn't even at the WH...so we don't even know if he was told. Yet, the media is quoting residents as Bush being a liar based on this testimony.
Regardless of this, it was still Terry Ebbert (NO's HS Director) who was informing people that the levee break was a "slow-rise" and that "he" would have it under control in a "few hours." Quote:
"It's a very slow rise, and it will remain so until we plug that breach. I think we can get it stabilized in a few hours," Terry Ebbert, New Orleans' homeland security chief told The Associated Press.
Officials are planning to use twin-rotored army helicopters to drop 1,360-kilogram sandbags on the breach to stop the flow of water, which would normally have been evacuated by a network of pumps."
In other words, even if Bush did know, he was obviously under the impression that the state officials were dealing with this problem. Heck, it was on this same day the Ebbert was quoted as saying Brown was doing a wonderful job.
"The Federal Government has no authority to step in unless requested by the State. FEMA was right on it just as soon as that happened."
The White House could only do what the law specified as to states rights and were far too politically correct to keep from embarrassing Blanco. The Blanco signals were all about her rights. Politics about the unused trailers is next. IMHO Michael Browne got buffeted by the Politics of Katrina until it was too late at which point help could only get into some of New Orleans. Meanwhile, other cities and towns in Katrinas path got along fairly well in the face of such a disaster.
No matter how President Bush handled the situation, he cant win because of the MSM and politics of the loony left. I think he has done very well considering what he is up against. Tip: dont be such a gentleman next time GW!
"It is extremely disappointing that the Mayor's office did not mobilize to help the people who were not able to get out."
"It is extremely disappointing that the Governor's did not mobilize to help the people who were not able to get out."
Crying with with the cry babies. Who gives a damn.
What an assinine question. Time of the Federal response is secondary at best. We Floridians know that it's the lack of local and state response that cost lives.
Exactly right.
This one is rigged. Besides: "I broke the dam!!"
None of the options lets you choose the local officials. That is where the blame lies.
Over half don't want to blame the feds. That's as good as it's gonna get on this particular poll.
