For the next couple of weeks, the Olympics will be held in Turin, Italy.
But because of the time delay in televising various events, it poses a problem for some of the good folks here at Free Republic.
Some people want to know immediately when the USA wins a medal or some other significant event happens. Others would prefer to find out first while they are watching the tape-delayed television broadcast and would prefer not to know the results before the broadcast.
We can accommodate both groups of Freepers, but only if everyone cooperates. We've established a "spoiler" thread in the Breaking News sidebar where realtime outcomes and news regarding the Olympics are posted. If you want to know in advance of the telecast what has happened, that's the place to look. It's also the place to post those realtime results.
Here's the spoiler thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1576475/posts
We will pull all new threads regarding Olympic results and re-direct them to that spoiler thread.
This will allow those folks here who want to participate at the forum, but not have the suspense of the Olympics spoiled by realtime threads, enjoy the best of both worlds.
So, enjoy the Olympics in real time on the spoiler thread, or tape delayed on television without knowing the outcome in advance. All it requires is some consideration to your fellow conservatives at this forum. Thanks.
Thanks!

Excellent point. We've made $100 in pizza money already.
Good idea. Thanks.
LMAO
Not everyone here shares the identical interests. I'm sure there are some things you think are important that don't matter to many here.
If the mods can keep most people happy here, they're doing their job. They'll probably be glad to hear that you won't be posting Olympic results out on the news forum.
"You'd think it was somehow important."
Who's going to argue about $100 in pizza money?
Olympics halftime spoiler:
Well I never kept a dollar past sunset,
It always burned a hole in my pants.
Never made a school mama happy,
Never blew a second chance.
I need the Mods to keep me happy,
I need the Mods to keep me happy.
Baby, baby keep me happy.
Baby, baby keep me happy....
But .... I thought they were in Torino?????
Hey, unsourced vanities don't belong in Breaking News, dude. Who do you think you are, anyway?
Ice Hockey Kitty!
Sports? I thought it was all "Up Close and Personal" Stories.

It's more a comment on the MSM's PC coverage.
Shooting in any form...even archery events...get little coverage because they don't think (obviously!) there is any legitimate interest, or redeeming social value in such competitions.
Bobsledding, ski jumping and downhill flag-collecting (sometimes called "slalom") among others can get my heart rate up; BUT I WANT TO ****SEE**** the 'nasty guns' being used!
And I Don't mean snippets shown from 3:00-3:15AM Wednesday morning or something equally ridiculous, either.
PC coverage has a lot to do with it, but the shooting sports are not very dramatic in terms of possible tv coverage.
Seriously, even in bowling you see pins go flying. In shooting you might see a tiny black speck appear in the target circle.
Bobsleds look like racecars on ice. They're gonna get covered.
I hadn't considered the bet angle. I'll have to bookmark the thread. I don't do bars but I have some dumb co-workers.
