"Once they found out it was sugar that should have been the end of it."

The school has a policy against look-alike drugs. Students are not allowed to carry around plastic baggies containing a white powder and say it's cocaine and invite other students to go into the bathroom to try some.

That's a no-no. It's in the student handbook. It's no secret. It's a school rule to which every student is expected to adhere.

Now, if a student breaks that rule they get suspended for two weeks. Even if the substance turns out to be other than cocaine.

How was the school to know it was actually sugar, by the way? This makes four requests. What's your problem in answering a simple question? Is it too tough? Did I use some big words?

*If* that version of the story rather than the AP's is correct, disciplinary actions are in order.

"Again, I am sorry if I was short. The state of our youth and school system frustrates me and yesterday I just really shouldn't have been posting, to be honest! lol"

Don't worry about it. I, too, have posted in unthinking reaction to others. One of the problems with text as a way of communicating is that it strips off all emotional loading, and makes all of us autistic; we don't get the social cues from facial expression and body language that we might normally get in a face-to-face discussion. It is SO much easier to misunderstand people, that way. I probably owe apologies to several on this thread, myself.

So according to the latest information, he DID bring it to school to claim it was cocaine and then to distribute it. The cover story about the science experiment was just that, a story.

re :The little turd was up to something.

Way to judge the lad.

All 12 year old lads are up to something it goes with being 12 years of age. Its about time we regained our sense of perspective where teenagers are concerned.

I still remember what I was like at that age.
