Please recite my lie.
He isn't only denying the validity of evolution, he's dismissing geology, astronomy, physics, biology, botany, and just about every hard science we have.
You are forgetting Creationist logic. Didn't you know that transitional forms prove that transitional forms don't exist by creating two new gaps that lack transitionals? Why, the very existence of transitionals invalidates them!
Not dismissing by any means. Dismissing any given finding of any given field is not dismissive of the field anymore than dismissing the edsel is dismissing the car company that made it. Said company most assuredly thrived for quite a long time. This nonsense about bringing down all the sciences because one questions evolution is nothing but moronic propagandistic scare tactics. And it highlights the validity of the debate in general. If your best ammo is deceit, you've already lost.
Now you know slick willy would date the babe.
Ahem, they taught creationism in all the Catholic schools I went to!
Since you had an inferior education why should you be listened to?
I don't think you are either, but evolution is.
Evolution is the "spawn of the devil"? Have I somehow gone back in time to the Dark Ages?
So I guess the moths in London that slowly turned darker so they would blend into the bricks darkened by coal burning then slowly turned back to a light color when coal stopped being burned was a trick of the devil??
Obviously - individual moths didn't turn different colors. The lighter colored moths showed up against the dark bricks and so were easily seen and eaten by birds. The darker moths blended in and escaped being eaten and therefore more dark moths were born than light moths. Years later, when the British stopped burning so much coal and the brick stopped being darkened by the coal soot, the darker moths showed up against the walls and were eaten. The lighter moths blended in to the lighter colored bricks and were not as easily seen by the birds, and so were not eaten as often and therfore were more able to produce offspring - that were, of course lighter in color.
The fact that these changes took place does not disprove the existence of God - quite the contrary. It would take a Divine Being to plan out such a complicated process.
How does any of this prove that "the devil did it"?
Claiming the Earth is only 6000 years old flies in the face of all teachings of geology and astronomy and physics to the contrary. All of which hold true the fact that the universe is billions of years old.
Bicycle makers proved flight. Get over yourself.
It may fly in the face of teachings; but, what's the point you're making, that teaching is sacred from the sciences? Just because you teach it, all must bow and believe. No. That is not science. The clergy of evolution has ridden rough shot over any serious review of things called into question. Timelines are in contention specifically because of the shoddy science upon which methodologies rest.
We were told stelagtites and stellagmites formed over millions of years. We find that they form in no time at all. We have been told that countless processes take millions of years and one by one those have been knocked down and shown contrary to facts. Fossils can be formed in lab conditions in a week. There is a business that exists doing it as a result apparently. Coal, diamonds, etc.. we can go on. These were all things that begged for millions of years but which have fallen on closer inspection. In light of that, evolution has continually had to regroup and rethink how to present great age proofs while all their evidences fail them.. not that the evidence was at fault - the spin on it from their midst was the fault.
So, do we disagree that fossils take millions of years and destroy science or do we disagree that fossils take millions of years and uphold observable reproducable facts - aka science. It's your argument, defend it. Science taught that stellagtites, stellagmites, fossils, etc took millions of years. The truth flies in the face of Evo teaching. And evo teaching and ideology is what forced science into the positions taught. Science didn't correct itself. People outside the community took up the banner in knocking these things down. St. Helens will go a long way to showing the actual biological process and time scale involved in manufacturing coal naturally. I'll wager it won't take millions of years either. And I'm more than reasonably sure that's one bet I'll live to collect on.
