Well, well, well....
Joe Biden is finally back.
Tiny Tom Daschole makes an appearance! Is he still deeply saddened about President Bush? Stay tuned!
Tom Daschle on Meet the Press? Tim must have been desperate.
And what in the world will Sigourney Weaver talk about on ABC? Global warming?
Where's John McCain? He and Kerry must be off wind surfing.
Thanks Alas!
Did I read that right? Condi Rice and Howard Dean? ....this should be interesting.
And what's with Sigourney Weaver? Did we giver her a cabinet appointment or something?
former Sen. Tom Daschle, D-S.D.<<
Has a nice ring to it..doesn't it!
Will they ask Deeply saddened abotu his wife's lobbying while he was the majority and minority leader in the Senate?
It's almost like "Rice and Beans..."..LOL
And Mehlman calls Russert's bluff
The same MSM that called a story based on forged documents 'fake but accurate', now calls Terrorist Surveillance program 'domestic spying.'
Russert invites Tom Daschle, the past obstructionist because he is going to say that he was against the terrorist surveillance program. His opinion didn't matter then. He lost, because of his obstructionism under his leadership, lost senate majotity - so why ANYTHING Daschle says matter NOW ?
Will Russert atleast ask him about his wife's lobbying while he was at the senate, now that seems to be talk of MSM & his connections to Abramoff?
Well, I, for one, can't plan my '06 and '08 votes until I know what Sigourney Weaver thinks.
P.S. -- Thnx AB!
As always thanks for the thread
Morning, ken. Are you digging out?
Daschle aside, MTP sounds promising. Chances are Pat Roberts will talk about the investigation into the leak of classified information to the NYT. I assume Pete Hoekstra will discuss the most recent revelations about Saddam's WMD.
Did not notice any flying pigs this morning LOL
Thanks for the reminder that Hoekstra is taking another look at Iraq's WMD. That helped make up my mind which show to watch.
It must be a slow news week.
Mornging all catch you later.Have a great thread.
Happy Birthday
Hey Ken, you see this one:
Iran is prepared to retaliate, experts warn

AB, speaking of Biden and the usual suspects...

It's interesting that the 'smartest woman in the world' never appears on these shows?
Concerning Lynn Swann: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/opinion/columnists/zito/s_422710.html
Always a potentially fun morning with Dean on.
I do care about us getting more medals than everyone else and having our national anthem played as much as possible. I like it when the USA wins. I like it when our greatness is undeniable. I do not worry about whether or not other countries get their feelings hurt or feel inadequate. I like it when our greatness compels other to try harder and be better. More adequate competition means our wins are even more impressive. We are the best for a reasonÄîAmericans are used to earning what they have. We embrace competition and personal excellence. ..........athletes do well because they want to, not because their nation threatens them if they don't.
Wish them all luck and every time the anthem is played, put your hand over your heart, and thank God for the blessing of being an American.
Good Morning, AB!

Here is a nice photo of the VP speaking at that event.
Very compelling, yet funny. sKerry and Edwards part is hilarious.
Fox - Allen. He needs lots of face time. Why have Lowrey on?
Daschle says they were briefed about the "domestic spy program" but can't get into the details because it's sensitive. It wasn't a comprehensive briefing.
Daschle says that objections WERE raised.
Senator Roberts says that every opportunity was given at briefings to raise concerns or questions or ask for additional information and he doesn't have the same take on it as Daschle.
Whoever the host is (I don't watch the anti-American letter channels) will, I'm sure, be filibustered.
MTP
Daschle: "Yes members of Congress were briefed, but...."
[I remember little Tommy crying that he didn't know anything about any Shadow Government just after the 9-11 attacks. Then someone reminded him that, as Majority Leader, he was standing in the middle of the Shadow Government.]
Sen. Roberts says that Rockefeller's letter was kept in a safe for 3 years and that Senators have many tools to use about concerns. Rockefeller never brought those concerns to Roberts who is Chair. Roberts is puzzled by Rockefeller feigning helplessness. LOL
Rockefeller is afraid he is a target of surveillence.
Russert: Can members use those tools without violating oath of confidentiality?
Roberts: Yes. Gives a few examples.
Roberts: My recollection is that everyone knew that htis was a crucial tool and thought the program was legal.
Daschle sits there shaking his head and looking like a doofus.
Didn't you know she's an expert on Iran's nuclear-weapons facilities?!
Rep. Jane Harmon says she could not have raised concerns without violating her oath of confidentiality (which contrasts with what Sen. Roberts has said).
She keeps saying she doesn't have a problem with the program and then goes on and raises concerns about the program. LOL
MTP
Rep. Harmon: "I support the program, but I don't know whether it is legal..."
huh?
Ah. That explains it!
I wish Condi would have this article Rainbow Coalition racism with her today and let howie try to attack her.

LOL! Must be tough to be a Democrat these days--it helps to have experience as a circus tightrope walker.
Rep. Harkin defending Rockefeller's secret letter which contrasts with Roberts comments about how Rockefeller could have raised any concerns.
Rep. Hoekstra: Briefings were focused. We walked out of briefings all thinking the program was legal and keeping us safe. The problem now is tha tthe program is of questionable value. Does anyone really believe that after 50 days of having this program on the front page of our newspapers, that AQ is really talking on the phone?
Hoekstra continues: If anyone believed the president was violating the law, it was their responsibility to get the president to stop it and use every tool to do so! If I came out of that briefing and believed the president was breaking the law, I'd have gone to the Speaker and asked for a meeting with the president.
She means impeachment... depending how well they do in November.
So in other words, you're saying they'll just lie, even about national security during times of grave crisis, in order to score political points?
Yup, sounds like today's democrats to me.
Spread the word!
Roberts is trying to be accurate and correct the record, but he's being too nice. Hoekstra on the other hand is very strong.
Not this guy again.

More Pali Propaganda, courtesy of the MSM.
This is akin to giving Tokyo Rose a soapbox.
That is well put
"Did I read that right? Condi Rice and Howard Dean? ....this should be interesting."
It would be REALLY interesting IF they would put them on together, however, Howie has refused to go on any show w Ken Mehlman and I suspect the same holds true for any R, or, at least any in a position of power. They'll probably do the usual thing and put the Pubbie on first and then Dr. Demento, that way the Pubbie doesn't have a chance to rebuttal his insane remarks.
Wouldn't it be great to see them on at the same time - - I think Condi would tame Dean better than Mary Matlin used to tame Carville when they were on MTP. Condi could show up in her black stiletto boots, talk circles around Dean - - intelligent and articulate v.s. his rambling lies--- smile sweetly on camera, while giving him one of those special Condi looks while he's talking, and, if he gets really off on one of his Demento spins, she could kick him under the table w her boots. America would seem her tower over him, both from a physical and intellectual stadpoint. </Fantasy off.... ;-)
She doesn't like questions. She only appears at 'listening tours'.
