When you forsake your friends you lose all. The enemy will never accept you and your friends will never trust you again. Like McCain, there are some out there who would vote for him because he rocks the boat but he can never get the conservatives to vote for him because of his weaseliness(This word is only grammatically correct when refering to John McCain.)

:-D But the shine will wear off McCain once he runs against the Beeste. Whether they like her or not, the libs will prop her up.
And I believe Jake the Goose's story about McCain in NH in 2000, where even his supporters came to the realization that he is out of his mind.

The only people seriously considering McCain are those who want the Democrats to win.

He tried to move the country toward social security reform and ANWR and less mideast oil dependence. You can't get much more conservative than that. McCain-Feingold is small potatoes and will be forgotten in history, as will be Specter's election.

I hope the Republicans suffer huge defeats in the House/Senate in 2006! And if that happens you will most certainly get the government you deserve, and that government will be one you also disagree with I am sure.
To: SmoothTalker
Think Bob Dole.
He had no chance of winning and whats more, that was pretty well known. Even I stayed home.
He was, however, assured of the backing of the GOP officals and really, that is the sine qou non of the deal.
McCain will have it, as well. Thank God Chaffee doesn't.

You're in a snit, because you don't like what the president has/has not done. This has clouded your ability to think rationally.
I suspect that you are so far to the right, that you're just about completely off the cliff.
To: SmoothTalker
I don't think McCain or Guiliani would have a prayer in a primary. Thank god for that. McCain, OK. But Guiliani, maybe. Read his book "Leadership" and see what you think. He IS a social liberal but on the things that a POTUS has real influence on, I can't think of a better man than Guiliani.
To: SmoothTalker
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...I guess you don't think that Reagan was a Conservative.
Do you cheer for Clinton, because he finally signed the Welfare Reform Bill and forced into a balanced budget?
To: xrp
Besides cutting off your nose, you appear to also want to cut off every single limb and yearn to disembowel yourself as well.

Reagan gave BLANKET AMNESTY to all illegals and raised taxes.

Well, for example, he promised he would veto the exact CFR legislation he signed into law.
