The vice president's office just released the following statement:
"The Vice President was told when he arrived at the White House this morning that doctors had decided, based on overnight monitoring, to perform a cardiac catheterization on Mr. Whittington.
The Vice President's chief of staff passed him a note at about 12:30pm ET to inform him that Mr. Whittington's doctors would brief in Texas about 1:00pm ET on complications in Mr. Whittington's condition. The Vice President was on Capitol Hill when he received this information.
When the Vice President returned to the White House, he was able to watch part of the press conference. At about 1:30pm ET, the Vice President called Mr. Whittington and spoke to him. The Vice President wished Mr. Whittington well and asked if there was anything he needed. The Vice President said that he stood ready to assist. Mr. Whittington's spirits were good, but obviously his situation deserves the careful monitoring that his doctors are providing.
The Vice President said that his thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Whittington and his family."

Until Mr Whittington is out of the woods, so to speak, VP Cheney will keep a low profile. Anything he says will be held against him in the court of main stream media.

The Vice President's chief of staff passed him a note at 12:30:12 ET to inform him that Mr. Whittington's doctors would brief in Texas about 13:01:45 ET on complications in Mr. Whittington's condition. The Vice President was on Capitol Hill when he received this information.
At 12:31:15 ET, The Vice President phoned David Gregory of NBC again to update him as to the latest developments.
When the Vice President returned to the White House at 12:59.55 ET, he was able to watch part of the press conference. At 13:30:00 ET, the Vice President called Mr. Whittington and spoke to him for 327 seconds. The Vice President wished Mr. Whittington well and asked if there was anything he needed. The Vice President said that he stood ready to assist. Mr. Whittington's spirits were good, but obviously his situation deserves the careful monitoring that his doctors are providing.

this incident is interesting on so many levels. The lawyer who will probably turn his back on a lifetime of finding victims and publicly say it wasn't anyone's fault. That would be ...rich.

Uh, people forget that for every lawyer bringing a lawsuit for a "victim", there is a lawyer defending the other side of the case. They're not all "ambulance chasers."
No silly, just Mr. Whittington and his family and for VP Cheney and Lynne. Those morons in the media just don't get anything.
