NYT sorely needs a grand jury investigation of its own. Maybe several.

This is hysteric nonsense being drumbed up by the losers in the White House Bitch Squad because they did not get a personal call from the VP. It is HYSTERIC NONSENSE like all the other hysteric nonsense like Fitzmus, Abu Graibe, Rathergate etc. IT IS GARBAGE Journalism on display.

Is Kleberg County where the shooting took place? I thought I recall "Kenedy County".
To: clawrence3
"IF MAN DIES..."
What's with the "if"?
Don't they mean WHEN?
Everyone dies...
When does the "if" deadline end?
They plan to extend "if" indefinitely?
This is clearly a witch hunt against Cheney.

Its standard procedure to have a grand jury look at any shooting in which someone dies.
It doesn't necessarily make the shooter culpable The MSM is salivating over this ridiculous possibility

Maybe THE new york times will ask that the grand jury be combined with theirs regarding the NSA leaks.
To: clawrence3
They better keep a 24 hour a day guard around Whittington, I wouldn't put it pass a DUmmy to put a pillow over his head if they thought it would land Cheney in jail.

What a ridiculous headline. It is a certainty that the man will die. All of us will. Even if the man dies as a result of being shot, I find it very hard to believe that the grand jury will investigate what is so obviously an accident.
To: clawrence3
Cheney should be locked up for not paying the $7 fee for the stamp - whatever it was for.
It serves any government official right. Hunting is nothing more than a government racket anymore. There's a license for this, a fee for that, a stamp, a sticker, a season. It's so regulated, no person can possibly avoid running afoul of the government when they try to hunt.
I remember hunting with my grandfather when I was a kid. We never paid a dime. We just got in the truck, rode down a dirt road and walked into the woods.
As far as him being charged if the guy dies ... the NYT wishes.

To: clawrence3
If he dies in 2022, it will still be Cheney's fault.
Just watch.

And if it's the typical investigation, (counting on whose county it is) the grand jury will say that it was an accidental situation and that Cheney will not be charged.
Deaths are often investigated by a grand jury when people shoot other people in Texas, as in home invasions, and self defense situations and other things. Doesn't mean they're out to prosecute.
But again, it will count on who's prosecuting.
And of course, the NYT might be in wishful thinking mode, too...

I guess they think that the guy he shot was the one who leaked the goods on Valerie Plame. Actually, there were two gunmen, Karl Rove was hiding in the woods (he was also hiding in the grassy knoll in '63).

To: clawrence3
And .. the blood thirsty media is salivating over the prospects of finally getting Cheney.
However, if that should happen .. and I don't think it will .. what about the person Bush might APPOINT to be the VP ..??
Just think about it for a minute .. what if Bush appoints George Allen. Allen then becomes an INCUMBENT VP and much more likely to take the top spot in 2008. I think the dems better be careful about what they wish for.
So far .. the dems wishes haven't turned out in their favor.

In Texas, Carlos Valdez, the district attorney in Kleberg County, said a fatality would immediately spur a new report from the local sheriff and, most likely, a grand jury investigationCarlos must be a Democrat. No sane DA would present such a weak case to a Grand Jury.
Unless, of course, it could do some political damage.
