Rush Limbaugh: Are They Just Idiots in Bill Schneider's Office?
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 2/15/06 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 02/15/2006 5:12:04 PM PST by wagglebee

RUSH: I've got to take care of something first. These idiots over at Bill Schneider's office and CNN. You remember the bit that I did yesterday in which I describe what would be happening if a Democrat vice president had shot a buddy accidentally while hunting? We would be hearing about, "Oh, this is a terrible thing. We must give the vice president room while he grieves and assembles himself as he suffers along with his friend." We'd get all kinds of features on hunting safety and there would be a totally different approach. They took one sentence out of that little monolog that I did over at CNN, Bill Schneider did, and tried to miscast this as me suggesting that there was a conspiracy by the liberal media that tarnished the vice president's reputation. It's just a little 12-second bite, but this is what happened. It was in The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Correspondent Bill Schneider's piece on the mystery man, Dick Cheney, is what they're calling him. And here's the bit.

SCHNEIDER: Conservatives see a conspiracy by the liberal media to tarnish the vice president's reputation.

RUSH QUOTE OUT OF CONTEXT: We applaud this administration for taking time to get this right rather than panicking and putting the news out.

RUSH: All right, they took that, and they had Dittocam video with it, too. You want to hear the whole monolog -- 52 seconds. You want to hear the whole thing from which that one sentence was taken? Okay, here it is.

RUSH ARCHIVE: You know darn well that if this were a vice president, and if they had delayed the story coming out like this administration did, we would be hearing, "Well, that was a wise thing to do, had to get all their -- no pun intend here -- ducks in a role, all the details, and make sure we got the facts right. We applaud this administration for taking time to get this right rather than panicking and putting the news out." And had it been leaked or reported as it was to some little newspaper in Corpus Christi, the media would be hoisting that reporter up on a pedestal and already be making job offers to get that reporter a big-time spot in the big-time media inside the big-time Beltway. The coverage would be entirely different and everybody knows it.
RUSH: Now, the sentence that they took out of that was, "We applaud this administration for taking time to get this right rather than panicking and putting the news out." I said that mimicking what the mainstream media would be saying were this a Democrat vice president who had shot a buddy accidentally while hunting quail somewhere in the high grass of Texas. They take that one sentence out of context and try to make it sound like I believe there's a media conspiracy to tarnish Cheney and that I am applauding the administration for taking time to get this right. Totally misunderstood the whole thing. Now, they had to see the whole thing. They had to watch and hear the whole thing in order to pull that one line out. Now, what is this? Was this a purposeful attempt to take me out of context, or are they just idiots over there in Bill Schneider's office? I guess that could be true, they're both. They're incompetent and they're idiots and there was an obvious attempt here, purposeful attempt to take me out of context. I don't care, it doesn't matter because I can come back the next day to a much larger audience that CNN has and correct and fix it. So it doesn't bother me. It's just more evidence of the battle and the war that we are in. This is a purposeful attempt to take me out of context and have their audience think I was saying something. (interruption) Well, now I'm getting some votes come in. They don't think Bill is purposeful, just an idiot. That's what H.R.'s opinion is. I don't even know that Bill's the guy. Somebody put this together for him, "Okay, Bill, here's the voiceover copy." He probably writes it. Hear it again now that you've heard the bit. Go back to cut one, Mike, and this is what Schneider said during the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer yesterday afternoon.

SCHNEIDER: Conservatives see a conspiracy by the liberal media to tarnish the vice president's reputation.

RUSH QUOTE OUT OF CONTEXT: We applaud this administration for taking time to get this right rather than panicking and putting the news out.

RUSH: Bill, you have to understand, I was imitating you. I was telling my audience what you would be saying about the Democrat vice president were the parties different in this incident. It's just unbelievable.

Rush, Rush, Rush! Don't be silly!

What would a Democrat VP be doing WITH A GUN??
(I mean, if he wasn't under the delusion that he was winning a few votes for his presidential bid by appearing with one.)

Democrats get away from it all be seeking out the tranquil Atlantic Coast with its beautiful views, unobscured by oil rigs or windmills or anything.

The media has really outdone itself on this Cheney thing. They are SOOOOOO transparent. And yet they are so stupid that they think we agree with them.

No, your problem is that you didn't READ the story...which IS about Rush, like it or not.

I wish this weren't a common occurrence, but when doesn't the media distort things, especially using the method of taking things out of context? And people give me funny looks when I tell them that I don't watch television or use the internet much. Look at all the trash that is cluttering it.

Yeah. And I'll plead guilty to doing that a time or two myself. I heard these clips on Limbaugh's show today. I couldn't believe that Schnieder was stupid enough to think he and his cronies could get away with this phony balony "reporting." THIS WAS BLATANT!

This using of Rush's parodies as things Rush is seriously supposed to mean is a technique that Al Franken uses to smear Rush.

Rush will do a parody about taxing the poor and Al Franken will write it as if it's a serious proposal from Rush. I guess others have learned this smear technique.

Tonight O'Reilly had some moonbat professor, talking about the Cheney incident. This guy was going on and on about Cheney blah blah blah and then he says, get this, that it's like "mid-nineteenth century" and "who goes quail hunting on a 50,000 acre ranch in Texas, that's like, that's John Wayne". These lefties are so far out of the loop about America- they think that hunting quail is some sort of John Wayne fantasy, that hunting is so 'nineteenth century'. Unbelievable.
And while this guy is babbling that nonsense- they had a split screen with that Fox News DC correspondent I forget his name, but he's standing there just grinning and laughing.

I heard the original broadcast, and Rush's follow-up, and the liberal media can't find anything substatantive to say, so they make stuff up.

Wait, I forgot, they make stuff up anyway.
The LSM is doing the job we've come to expect.

"Put Journalists who are putting our nation at risk in time of war...

G Gordon Liddy was on Hannity and Colmes tonight and literally handed David Gregory his head.

He was very, very blunt and told the audience the last time he saw a rant like Gregory's it was from his two year old daughter. Bob Beckel seemed to be in agreement about the White House press corps and their obvious overreaction.

Exposetheleft.com may have video a bit later on. Ian over there is fantastic at capturing this type video.

Yup. Guilty as charged.

Now look all you Rush lovers. I like Rush. I listen to him all the time. He is still the best but when he starts talking about Rush, which he does not infrequently, he just gets boring. Now this case was marginal I will admit so maybe I did reach for the six-shooter (pun totally intended) a little too quickly.

I don't believe I said anything derogatory about him. It was simply a question, and it never occured to me I was judging him. If he gets as heavy as he was 10 years ago he will not be with us long. He is important to the conservative movement and I'd hate to lose him.
