Cheney turns to Fox
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 2/16/6 | EDITOR

Posted on 02/16/2006 3:18:34 PM PST by SmithL

VICE PRESIDENT Dick Cheney knew where to go when he finally decided to tell his story about the accidental shooting of a hunting buddy. Cheney went to Fox News, where he was guided gently through the events by interviewer Brit Hume.

Cheney has not submitted himself to open-ended news conference questioning in more than three years -- and it's clear that he did not regard the aftermath of a Texas shooting as cause for him to face a White House press corps that is openly agitated about his efforts to control the story.

That bellowing noise is the Dinosaur Press sinking into the tar pits of irrelevance...

Great and accurate visual of their sorry state.

I love how the WH press corp is described in this editorial:
White House Press Corps Expose
Carolina Journal. ^ | February 16, 2006 | Jon Ham

Sitting in armchairs waiting for handouts not the best way to get scoops

Members of the elite White House press corps this week have acted more like animals that have been kept in captivity for so long that they can’t find news unless it is forced down their open gullets at a daily press briefing. ..........

Its FOX NEWS ALL THE TIME at The White House, they block the MOONBAT Stations out, CNN, NBC, ABC, and worst of all CBS.

My local news is San Francisco and last night before showing part of the interview the anchor gave a warning that it was Fox news and a further warning that it was Brit Hume. Oh, the smirk on his face!

I think Cheney went to Fox for a purpose. It was like spitting the faces of the MSM. It really stirred them up too, Poor pathetic bastids.

I've had it with these hate filled, jealous whiners. They can go screw themselves.

You are kidding! Wow, they are really exposing themselves as vicious political hacks!

But then aren't all liberals vicious?

"I never realized until now the reason for MSM's hatred of alternative news outlets. They hate that Republicans have decided they don't need to grovel to them."

Indeed, and more specifically, a realization that Republicans don't need them to win elections. That throws the liberal press into an irrational rage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's necessary to lead a shotgun in front of a game bird in flight. Not only so, but the bird would have been closer to Mr. Cheney than his lawyer friend was (that is, the unfortunate friend would have been really unfortunate if he had been hit by a blast at close enough range that the shot pattern would have been dense enough to have been sure to have brought down a quail).

My point is that

Thus the scenario that Mr. Cheney would not have seen his friend even though he was directly in line with the boresight of the gun he was aiming. Mr. Cheney pulled the trigger - and only then saw that his friend was in the line of fire.

He sure as heck wasn't going to go to CBS. I mean, with Dan Rather gone and all. ;o)

That's okay, the Dems have the alphabet media to throw THEM the softball questions. I mean, when was the last time Hiliary went on a single FOX show.

A caller suggested this on Rush yesterday and I sooo wish the Bush Administration would implement it. Every time there's a BIG story, call some small, independing newspaper in America's heartland and leak it to them first. Then send McClelland out to the Press Room after said small paper has already scooped the story.

I mean, the melodrama would be SOOOO much fun!

a White House press corps that is openly agitated about his efforts to control the story.

It is much more infantile than that: The WH Press Corps is agitated that someone in the media outside the Press Corps got the story first.

They sound like a bunch of children throwing a temper tantrum because they were not chosen first!

Humm, they seem to forget that Hillary never gives a press conference and only does interviews on friendly networks that will allow her to screen all questions in advance.

I gave my interview to the Fox News Channel for one reason. So people would hear it in its entirety. If I'd gone to CNN, MSNBC or on of those other networks, all you'd hear is the reporters' questions and an answer from me completely out of context! Gadzooks, next time I'm just going to shoot the journalist! Then I know the story will be handled right...

I don't recall any objection when Dan Rather was fawning all over the Clintons, either. Or when WJC took Sam Donaldson to the woodshed for asking a question off-script in a White House news conference. Or when they buried the story about Sandy Bergler stealing classified documents, etc.
Would the MSM be kinder to Cheney if he had the Secret Service dump Worthington in Ft. Marcy Park?

Dick Cheney knew where to go when he finally decided to tell his story about the accidental shooting of a hunting buddy.

The cable news network with the most viewers?

Or was he supposed to go on Hardball with Hissy Mathews and that Rabid WH reporter? No one would see it.
