Beyond this, people who should rightly be able to make the connections don't ... or don't want to.
During the 2004 federal election campaign, I was in a one-on-one situation with an otherwise highly intelligent, if somewhat red-Tory (RINO), supposedly practicing Catholic female CPC candidate while driving her to a meeting.
After I'd articulately laid out the principal points covered in Byfield's article in the most calm & friendly manner possible, she stared at me with an expression of absolutely bovine-like non-comprehension and asked: "Do you really believe the Liberals are against all families?"
Looking her directly in the eye, I evenly replied: "With no doubt whatsoever." We then drove on in silence until she subsequently changed the subject.
She didn't run this time out.

I have had so many people at school say things along the lines of 'all these people would do with their money is buy beer and lotto tickets'. They say things like that because the educated, elite Liberals have a great deal of contempt for the average man. They think of them as ignorant peasants who only think of their own well beaing and not the greater good of society. Only when you put society first in your life decisions, are you approaching the enlightenment that will make you an acceptable member of civillization.
Seriously though, that comment was actually made by a liberal parliament member with respect to the Tories giving a $1200 child care allowance to parents, to be spent as the parents see fit, rather than the universal, 9-5 daycare the Liberals promised. Liberals believed they could better spend the money rather than the parents. They thought parents would waste the money and not use it to help provide care for their kids.

In short, that's Mrs. Clinton's whole philosophy on childcare in a nutshell.
Bet you're glad that - unlike the Liberals who apparently take their required reading instructions from Oprah - you didn't waste money on her book.
