Bookmarked. Thanks! I had to check out the pipe tobacco section. My dad smoked cigars, and on occasion, a pipe. My all time favorite was Borkhum Riff(sp). It was cured in whiskey, and smelled divine. Hardly ever smell pipe or cigar smoke anymore : (

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. That is a hell of a way to quit. Mine are caused by stress, but I've wanted to quit for other reasons, like it costs too much, and now I have a significant other. His mother smoked, and his ex smokes. He hates it.

My two strokes have been relatively mild. I find myself even worse at math than before, however. Lots of weird stuff. The doctors at the emergency room told me to eliminate all stress from my life, before they cut me loose(no insurance, and I actually went to urgent care. The nurse put me in wheelchair and took me to the ER) Hahaha, I had a date with family court the next day, and my alternator died going home from the hospital.

I plan on quitting, in fact getting down to half a pack is a major accomplishment for me.

Hope your excursion to the tobacco tax funded aquatic center was nice : )

Checking in late from CA. Objective of the initiative - "reduce smoking" and collect more tax $$ for social programs? How on earth does that work? Sounds like our glorious state in action for sure.

Watch the legislature scramble if every smoker in the state decided to quit smoking outright!! They would probably pass a law requiring that everyone start smoking!

We're out of here in two and a half more months!

>>> I really love their collaboration(deliberately chosen word) with IG Farben. Bastards!

Not just Farben. If you get a moment, read this thread:

How do you say No NAIS in Japanese?

They also merged with companies that were started by the mad doctors from Unit 731.

>>>> The world has proved itself to be too crazy for that.

AMEN!

Okay. I went through the 731 link. Lovely way to ruin a snowy Sunday. I cannot believe that the things I thought I knew about the Japanese part of WWII was so damn sugar coated!

I am completely disgusted, and even ashamed of our government for covering up Unit 731, just so they could get their hands on some dirty data.

Japan's state of denial shocks me. Hoping your victims die off so you don't have to admit guilt by paying reparations, makes me wonder how they can be trusted.

My opinion of Japan has changed since reading all the information you posted. I just cannot reconcile the barbarity of those actions with the extremely well mannered and polite veneer Japan projects.

I was given a link to a website as a joke, years ago. This was a pretty rowdy message board where the link was posted, mind you. It dealt with something called "bukake(sp)". Please don't look it up. I couldn't understand how such fastidious people such as the Japanese could play with poopoo. Well, guess I bought a clue today.

Seriously, thank you for your painstaking research. Many of us have heard of the rape of Nanking, Bataan Death March, comfort women, but like I said, the info was sugar coated so our buddies can save face. BS!
