The Iraqis (especially Al Sistani) are infinitely patient. I think Allawi is going to be interior minister and then he will clean up Mookie's little mess in Basrah and elsewhere in southern Iraq. Allawi is the perfect person to do that because he is Shiia.
The political manuvering that is taking place right now is very, very interesting.

Indeed it is. So many players, so many opinions/alliances, yet they keep having meetings as groups across party list lines.
Democracy in the works. Of course also hedging for getting eventual black limos and nice new suits etc., but never the less, the Iraqi people are going to hold them accountable for the outcome. They gotta produce better results then the first interim government or they are not going to stay in power if elections are held in four years for a new government.
Since their new way of governing is not institutionalized as say in the US, they can't hide behind walls and last for long. The blimp will run out of steam as opposing parties overrule the slim majority the UIA has. And for all we know many in say the Shia SCIRI may not really want him shooting his mouth off. We might assume Sadr is more powerful then he really is. And this appears to being brought out of lately. He is not ruling the roast. And in the end, he is not running for public office. So he may be pushed aside as deals go down, and they reach an agreement just who should get the main ministry posts etc..

Whoops. I forgot to make the point. The fat boy continues to say the US and coalition troops have to go. He is now in opposition to many Iraqi leaders and thinkers, industrialist, bankers etc.. In short, those in power positions. They want us to stay in country for a long time, and as we have seen, a few articles are voicing the fact, some want to join NATO.
There is no room for the fat boy and his positions. They all know he is a blithering bitter Shia clerk. And they all know he had a murder charge against him. And they all know he loves to use political/religious excitment to rule over his poor people in Sadr city. In short, it is a wonder he has not been asked to keep his mouth shut by the power players at this point in time.

Should have snuffed Mookie back when he was actively running his militia against our troops in Baghdad...we had a great excuse then.
Now....he's become a politician and harder to take out without incurring huge backlash. He's being "run" by Iran.
