Peggy Noonan has jumped the shark. Her comments for the past few months seem to be for the consumption of her east-coast-liberal friends. The Bush Administration would never give the Liberals the satisfaction of being able to suggest that they drove Cheney out. It aint going to happen. Now, if Cheney's health should deteriorate in a year or so, Condi is ready to step in

That's a pretty dumb take.

Cheney's going nowhere...especially over this trivial incident.

No Peggy, Most people are satisfied Iraq is being handled. Maybe not aggressively enough, but improving.

Some things that can bring up those poll numbers.
First: Veto a few of the outrageous spending bills, and restore some fiscal responsiblity.
Second: Secure the borders, declare the "Guest worker" program on hiatus until after the borders are secured.
Third: Drop the "Religion Of Peace" mantra and declare it is time for Islam to stop killing innocent people.

The poll numbers are down because even the Rino's are finding it too easy to not support GWB. He is looking for support from other places than his base and is paying the price.

Well, Noonan's an idiot. Pure and simple.

Cheney's the administration's hate magnet? So? SOMEBODY is going to be the hate magnet. It might as well be someone who's up to the task and can handle himself with style and gravitas.

Carter had the rabbit. Ford had the stumble. And Quayle had his potato. None of them quit. All of them left office at the end of their terms. And guess what, it STILL didn't go away. So why quit over the Elmer Fudd thing. It won't stop it.

So unless you're one of the ones that think Bush needs a little more heat on him directly to get things done, let's let it all go to Cheney. 'Cause that hate is going to go somewhere.
