They are fighting the last war. Do they really think we will attack them like the Israelis did Iraq over a decade ago? Fools.

Jimmy Carter will not be planning the next invasion of Iran. And paybacks are a -----.

Iran nuke plant 'would survive attack'

that's fine and dandy...but if only radiated personel are left to operate it, how efficient can it be?...and how long could they operate it?

:D

The 'look' in General Buck Turgeson's eyes said it all.

Don't underestimate them. I've met a lot of Iranians over the years and I can say they're shrewd natural merchants and capitalists and that they have a very good work ethic.

Our local university has had many over the years who are studying here before returning and I've met a lot of young Iranian chemists, engineers, anthropologists, ets who are keen, smart and whose only fault was that they needed practice on English. (Mind you, like the Indians a number of them only stood out with their Enbglish speaking because it was too formal!).

Iran, from the 40ws on had a good education system until 1979 and then it revived again in the late 80s. This isn't Pakistan or Afghanistan. Iranians are clever people. (Well the people are, not necessarily their government).

We'd be happy to test that assertion.

Using infrared monitors, I am sure we could locate all entrances to these underground facilities, and effectively bury anybody and anything inside under tons of rubble.

Yes, they could attempt to dig out the entrances, which would show up immediately on our satellite images, and we could bury them again.

We also have various new weapons in the pipeline which I think would be even more effective in ruining their so-called "impenetrable" underground nuclear labs.

My point exactly. Iran can "get" anything it wants using oil dollars, they are unable to exploit their own mineral resourses themselves.

Question: Who is doing it for Iran?

Everyone is fighting the last war; except some outstanding folks at the Pentagon who are fighting the present war.

We are working to minimize the spread of hostilities when the overt action in Iran is undertaken.

All warfare is based on deception (Sun Tzu).

These pricks are going to get hit so hard from so many angles that they may as well be in the 7th century. They are armed and dangerous and therefore must be rapidly and totally neutralized in days, not weeks.

So leave the sites alone...and waste the leadership.

"Why does Iran need nuclear engery when it has such vast supplies of oil at its fingertips? Are we to believe that they're simply concerned about the environment? If these facilities are simply for nuclear power, why hide and harden them?"

Excellent questions and exactly to the point!

Underground bunkers/facilities have to have a way in ,a way out and a air source......
take them out and you have a tomb!!!

looking more and more like they will get the bomb..Bush's hands are tied or perhaps he no longer wants to fight another war with his enemies in DC and MSM and the raghead jihadist killers. EU and UN will not support action.
Iran is playing the Saddam game of payoffs to China and Russia and looks to me like they get the bomb.

Yeah. Even if it were true, well, every bunker needs a door or a vent.

Well, there's a reason they're called "bunker busters."

Have a look at the FReeptoon tonight. You'll love it, I promise.

The sites may be hardened....what if the surface is glowing?

If our bunker busters cannot penetrate directly there is always the vent or door.

"Don't confuse the Iranian regime with people who give a damn about their citizens.",a>

Good reminder. Everyone seems to analyze, assess and form an opinion according to their own - mostly Western - political experiences and character traits and forget we are dealing with a savage, wild animal pretending to be a domestic pet. So we fall into that mindset trap.

Also nothing we used to make an evaluation prior to August 15th, 2005 - THE IDES OF AUGUST - (new Iran Prez) CURRENTLY has any basis in fact.

As far as destroying the nuclear sites, burying entrances to them is just as good. If you can't reach them or get out, then they become useless - even though temporarily.

Same applies if you kill the humans running them. Doesn't have to be by radiation weapons.

And the valid comments about destroying the uranium mines is so obvious - and they are not hardened tunnels.
