Bush has never been timid about playing the race or gender card when it suits him.....I understand his logic on this but resorting to PC defense really pisses me off.
The "Strom Strategery"...works like a charm...at least last go-around...
Why not just say "we need to reward the UAE cause they help us a lot logistically and otherwise in the WOT"....folks can grasp that if explained to them.

I don't think so. Patriotism was too strong to allow that. People weren't so self concerned. Arab Golden Parachutes didn't trump national security back then.
The people actually "running" the terminals will be Americans who get a paycheck from a Company run by Brits whose ownership changed to Arab. I'm holding my fire until I learn more and better understand exactly what these Arab's could actually do that could concern us.
