Gore may be a man whose time has come in his party. It was he who warned of climate change and predicted its consequences. Hurricane Katrina was just a fulfillment of the prophesies Gore wrote about in his late-1980s book Earth in the Balance.

What exactly is the author's definition of gracefully? In my world Nixon withdrew gracefully, Al Gore certainly did not.
To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, "Better an interesting improbability than a boring cliche." (Wilde actually said "Better an interesting lie than a boring truth" -- I think he was referring to dinner conversation).

In FahrenHYPE 911, the answer film to Michael Moore's film, Dick Morris says that he opposed all of Bush's policies except he realized the importance of the war on terror and national security and on that basis supported Bush over Kerry for president.
I bring that point up because when I hear Morris on conservative talk programs, he advised how Republicans have to give up their positions and resolved stand on conservative social issues. I don't trust his motives. He does not agree in the same things I do. He can speak and I can listen (until I tune out) but I don't give any credence to his advice. He has different objectives than I do.
As Michael Medved says at the end of lengthy interviews with openly communist guests. "I don't wish you success in your goals." (paraphrased)
Of course. At various times in the coming three years he will declare each of the following to be unbeatable: Hillary, Gore, Kerry, McCain, Giuliani, Allen, my Aunt Matilda, etc.
And if one is perceived as having a bad week he will immediately write them off as unelectable.
