PHILLIP DISTASIO LIVES in a tiny cell on the fourth floor of the Justice Center, away from most other suspects awaiting trial. He and eight other men are in protective custody because, as Lt. Ken Kochevar explains, “the nature of their crime or who they are would endanger them if they lived among the general prison population.”

But even among that group, the gaunt, 34-year-old Distasio is probably alone in the forthright way in which he describes himself as a pedophile. He uses the words “boy-lover” and “boy-lover’s boy” casually, even though he’s been accused of 74 crimes involving boys between the ages of 8 and 13 years old. Among them are charges of gross sexual imposition, corruption of minors, pandering obscenity, and 26 rapes.

He says he would never associate himself with Jesus, but his message is clear: He views himself as a self-sacrificial lamb. Getting caught, he says, was an intentional and necessary cost of his “secular ministry.”

That cost could be spending the rest of his years in prison. He was found sane enough to be tried, waived the right to a speedy trial, and told his court-appointed lawyer that he wants to strike no bargains. In his mind, facing 26 life sentences gives him the chance to speak out for the pedophiles of the world, and for his idea of “sanctuary.” His message: Pedophiles are people, too.

Distasio describes himself as a second-generation pedophile: at the age of 12, he began a relationship with an older man, a swimming instructor named Charlie, at a boys’ club in Massachusetts. He says he’s known about his proclivity since age 9.

The “secret” could dismantle a life with shame and violence. A life like Distasio’s. Or like his roommate, Chris Nolan, who was found hanged by an extension cord in the Rocky River Reservation of the Metroparks. Or like any one of the nine other people Distasio says he has known who killed themselves or were murdered because of what they did or because someone might tell.

“I lose a friend a year to that sh**,” he sobs. “And it’s all because the law gets involved. If you really want to do something about the sex offender problem and the drug problem, the first thing you need to do is give people a safe place to speak.”

Control is a recurring theme for Distasio. He claims that since he began a year ago talking at open mics about the legalization of marijuana, everything — except his roommate’s suicide by hanging from an extension cord — has gone according to plan.

Somehow, this all fits together.

Do you mean lesbians? I doubt that anything like 50% of kids have been molested.

Off topic, though, I think women are much more likely to molest than is recognized. If a big part of rape is about power, it makes sense that men might rape women, who are weaker than they, but women will molest younger boys whom they can dominate. It's certainly a pattern I've noticed; female child molesters seem to do it in the context of a "power" game, where the molestation itself is often a "punishment" inside the game.

While probably true, this statement may be misleading, as it appears that the average homosexual pedophile molests a great many more children than the average heterosexual pedophile.

Pedophiles specializing in boys are more likely to make a "career" out of it than those specializing in girls.

They certainly have a history of defending NAMBLA while attacking the Boy Scouts. We have to bear in mind that NAMBLA considers itself a human rights organization, which is why this quote from Distasio is illuminating:

They are pushing to have their 'sexual orientation' be legitimized by the government. I seriously doubt it. Defendants who go to trial almost never win. IIRC, the Prosecution wins in criminal trials over 90% of the time.

This guy's looking at 26 life sentences. Only a miracle will save him. And child molestors tend to have very short life expectancy in the pen, outside of protective custody.

As with homosexuality, they operate on the premise that humans are remarkably adaptable, and after exposure to a condition for a period of time, they will adapt and accept, if not embrace it.

They are attacking children on multiple fronts. Psychological journals have started printing the occasional article about how adult-child sexual relationships are not always harmful. Planned Parenthood states that children are sexual beings who have the right to make their own decisions. When these organizations claim they are fighting for the right for children to make their own decisions, they are really saying, "we don't want other people interfering with our seduction and manipulation techniques." They target children because they're sexually attracted to them, and an individual child is easy to overpower and manipulate.

The problem is that there is a good chance child sex will become the norm somewhere in the next 50 years.

I will say something provocative here. There are already laws on the books which protect persons having sex with 12 and 13 year old kids.

I predict that these laws will be expanded several years down the road. I think this will occur in large part because of younger and younger persons engaging in sex and the attitudes that is all right. The internet and picture cell phones are a big part of this. Kids no longer have to steal their dad's Playboy to see a naked woman. They can surf to see a lot more, watch a video on line, or play voyeuristic games on cell phones.

When more cell phones get net capable, it will get worse.
