You missed my point. I suggested we Federalize the port properties and then outsource the traffic to enterprise such as the British firm, with payments to the Feds. Keep security with Fed LEA and Coast Guard. Revamp the operation to focus upon soverignty and security of this great country. I don't think this is unreasonable.
PING....
Someone really needs to do something with those hanging glasses of his.....I can't stand that guy. Oh, I see the "fat bastid" just swaggered in! Oh boy!
Levin(D-MI) "speaking", right from the DNC fax.
After the Taliban took control of the area around Kandahar, Afghanistan, in September 1994, prominent Persian Gulf state officials and businessmen, including high-ranking United Arab Emirates and Saudi government ministers, such as Saudi intelligence minister Prince Turki al-Faisal, frequently secretly fly into Kandahar on state and private jets for hunting expeditions. [Los Angeles Times, 11/18/01]
General Wayne Downing, Bush's former national director for combating terrorism, says: They would go out and see Osama, spend some time with him, talk with him, you know, live out in the tents, eat the simple food, engage in falconing, some other pursuits, ride horses. One noted visitor is Sheik Mohammed ibn Rashid al Maktum, United Arab Emirates Defense Minister and Crown Prince for the emirate of Dubai. [MSNBC, 9/5/03]
While there, some develop ties to the Taliban and al-Qaeda and give them money. Both bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar sometimes participate in these hunting trips. Former US and Afghan officials suspect that the dignitaries' outbound jets may also have smuggled out al-Qaeda and Taliban personnel. [Los Angeles Times, 11/18/01]
On one occasion, the US will decide not to attack bin Laden with a missile because he's falconing with important members of the United Arab Emirates' royal family.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!
Levin immediately makes the comment that Bush did this "without consulting Congress"...
Puh-llleeeeze, what part of "you guys made the law" don't you understand Levin??

EXCERPT
It was President Clinton himself, who, after meeting with Chinese officials, first proposed basing the Chinese company, a front for the People's Liberation Army and Beijing's intelligence arm, at the former naval yard.
After 9/11 - UAE exerted intensive efforts with the government of Taliban government to convince it to respond with the request of the UN security council to hand over Usama Bin Laden.
Chappaquidick ted bloviating now.
Thanks for posting this Howlin. I've got to get a heart MRI this morning so I'll check back later. I don't mean to be disruptive to the developing group think here at FR so forgive me my statements. I guess I need assurances as to the ownership of the properties in question.
We all already know about that; we all already know it was a lowly prince down the food chain.
And we all already know that was Bill Clinton.
Well, Teddy is the resident expert on all things "port"!
There is Blimp Kennedy speaking.
Is it time for a unison FReeper puke?
