The other night Jimmy Carter popped up on the Larry King show, live via satellite, standing in a ski lodge and wearing a fur-lined outdoorsman jacket as though he'd just come in from felling a spruce.
He was publicizing an upcoming auction in which he would sell the furniture he'd been making.
Also his wine. This may have come to many viewers as a surprise: There is Jimmy Carter Wine.
The former president didn't say how he made it, but you know what it's probably called: peanut noir.
Also he plans to sell his paintings. "My paintings," he told King, "have gotten to be pretty popular."
In fact, he said, one of his paintings had been used as the cover for his recent novel.
George Will recently called Carter "an even worse ex-president than he was a president," a snippety remark that probably reflects Will's jealousy that Carter has more hobbies.
Liberal Democrats, demonstrating characteristic loyalty, tried to oust Carter in favor of Teddy Kennedy.
Carter survived, but fell in the fall election to a sunny, twinkly-eyed former movie star.
Carter hadn't just lost the presidency; in effect he'd been fired.
Answering a call, here comes the most indefatigable man in America: Jimmy Carter, ex-president-for-life.

Sorry, I left off the Barf Alert.

hope it's as good as billy beer.../sarc
comPost indeed!
A Whine story.
"Peanut noir..."
"...He's a lumberjack and he's OK...."/music
Why the guy is becoming a regular Paul Newman.
Just when you thought Paul's dressing a bit pricey, Jimmy Dean sausage sucked and Orville Redenbacher thought he had gold coated popcorn, along comes peanut head like he's having a perpetual garage sale.
Doesn't this creep lust in his heart anymore? And are the Democrats really that stupid to buy that crap?
Oh ... never mind.

A (killer) rabbit fur coat by any chance?
Was that Rabbit Fur ?

Isn't this the president who ran a dry Baptist Whitehouse?
Sounds like a serious secret drinker to me.
SO9
I've wondered for sometime if Jimmah's breathtaking lack of shame and embarrassment is due to stupidity or the absence of a conscience.
I saw an unopened can of that stuff in an antique store a couple of years ago. I just couldn't bring myself to pay for anything that was associated with the Carter legacy.
Carter probably hired someone to make the furniture, the wine and the paintings. It wouldn't surprise me. He is such a damn phony!
I always thought that it was more the former.
No doubt about it.
That novel is titled "I was a Great, Humble President."
Even Richard Nixon was a better ex-president then Jimmah Carter. A thousand times better. After Reagan kicked Carter's butt, Jimmah began planning his vendetta against the American people. Carter's had a chip on a shoulder since 1981. Make that a 2X4.

The wrong Carter brother became President, that's what I always say.
peanut noir
There are very few people alive today that could write such fawning article over the likes of Carter without laughing so hard as to not be able to type.
Even better is that Gore and Kerry are following closely in his footsteps,to the point that even few dems want to talk about them.
2. I never noticed before what elegant legs she has.
3. Jimmuh's face looks like it's melting. Maybe she DOES have that death ray stare.
gotta love the WP folk. They can't even say his name!
Ronaldus Maximus! (otherwise know as Ronnie to his friends and admirers!)
"Mr gorbachev, tear down this wall!"
It's toughing deciding it he's a worse President or ex-President.
I guess Jimmy hasn't managed to tap into the river of special interest dollars that usually flow to any ex-President.
I am reading that book, right now. I was only a young child when he was president. But after his embarrassing display at the Coretta Scott King funeral I picked up the book. His administration was appalling. Every Middle East problem we have came from him. I was surprised at how little I really knew about him. I thought Clinton was horribe(and he is) however, Carter was and is evil, incompetent and so many other things.
or possum sqeezin's?
As I recall, the sand smoothered the helo's engines.
There is Jimmy Carter Wine......
Bet Billy Beer was better and Billy Beer was rotten.

And those people write ridiculous articles like these trying to rehabilitate the jerk. History (and Carter) speak for themselves.
Ping. when reading about the failed ex-President try not to be sick. :) Just another reminder why it's so much better with President Bush and not this man.
What's in the wine? LOL
President Bush looks annoyed and bemused, as in:
1. Who has the damned football. It's time to nuke Plains.
2. An empty peanut shell, not worth the effort...Never mind!
Mrs. Bush, on the other had, has that school teacher look many of us remember. When my teachers got that look, I knew I had crossed the line & was in deep shiite: at school and at home.
It is incredible that the DUmmies actually might believe their own stories.
I guess that they repeat the lies enough times, they then believe it.

Art auctions are a form of commercial money laundering.
Just a thought to keep in mind.
Thanks for posting the cover George. IMO McGovern and his anti-war fellow travelers moved the democrat party in the direction that set the course for the next 34 years. Carter and Clinton were just dupes on the road to socialist nervana.
I vividly recall seeing billboards along I-75 in south Georgia declaring "The farmers of Georgia apologize to the nation for Jimmy Carter."
During the Carter years, at Carter's urging, Idaho Senator Frank Church held hearings on the operation of the CIA and found that -- HORRORS -- taxpayer money was being paid to foreign snitches who had CRIMINAL RECORDS for vital human, on-the-ground intel on the activities of those who were planning the destruction of this country. Church commented at one session that "Gentlemen do not read other gentlemens mail." Glad that a**hole didn't serve during the run-up to WWII. (Although he may have handled the "delayed" communication to Pearl Harbor that the Japanese were on the way!)
The sorts of people who consort with -- and, more importantly, get cozy with -- the leaders of terrorist organizations are not normally choir boys. Church moved the legislature to PROHIBIT any US funds going to these potential informants. Since it can take upwards of 20 years for these guys to move close enough to the top to be seriously valuable, we had virtually NO humintel on bin Laden's plans for 9-11! While there are still Church-like imbeciles at the levers of power here, I THINK the law has been changed. While the NSA wiretaps and eavesdrops on US citizens HERE, isn't it comforting to know that in just 15 or 20 years we may be able to thwart THERE a plan hatched THERE for some future 9-11 with information actually gathered THERE.
Despite what my Emory indoctrinated niece (who worked at the Carter Center for Meddlesome Interference in United States Foreign Policy) thinks, Carter was -- and IS -- a dangerous buffoon.
