Morning AB and everyone. Sure hope it's a good day for us.
Media Perks: treated with utmost respect on and off camera, even send their corporate jet to pick up and drop back, meet their demands for their staff (& family), create an atmosphere where atleast till their talk - they can dream as if they have more power than anybody on earth, including the President.
Senator Frist now supports the ports deal. Maybe next time he could do a little homework before making a jerk out of himself.

The Republicans stepped right into the Democrat's WOT trap. They are such idiots!
I agree with you, and furthermore, anyone who succumbed to this port hysteria is easily stampeded by the media and is not fit to occupy the Oval Office. Scratch Frist off the list of acceptable candidates (although I wasn't wild about him anyway).
Morning, AB, and all. Nothing really sounds all that good, so I guess I'll stick with Fox.
you've got them pegged dead on; bravo!
Good one, Peach. Looks like got a punch by Mitch McConnel. What 's with senate majority leaders? First Daschle, now Frist, fast falling down.
They sure did. Most of them need a visit to the woodshed by the POTUS.
ABC's lineup looks positively nauseating.
Good morning.
First, he opposed Federal Marriage Amendment. Now he is backing a ban on gay marriage in his home state of Arizona.
He opposed Jerry Falwell & Pat Robertson in 2008 and until recently. Now he goes to meet Rev.Jerry Falwell. And endorsed teaching intelligent design alongside evolution.
He 's warning others in opposing the latest Port deal, asking them to calm down & know the full facts. But then let his surrogates - Collins & Graham criticize it.
Getting Ken Mehlman for his PAC fund-raiser.
McCain has taken several steps to court party's base. But, what about his stance on global warming, terrorist protection amendment, tax-cuts, CFR & media-schmoozing?
God... he looks like a crazed gerbil!
thanks AB!
Wonder which really important issues will be discussed in a rational, intelligent fashion?
(oh, uh, its the sunday morning talk shows...what was I thinking?)
Talk about knee jerk reaction and also showing total lack of world affairs after this deal have been in the public domain since last November.
LOL!!!!He does!
There's something about power and thinking they can shape a policy to their philosophy, I guess. Frist has been so disappointing. Remember when he first came on board and we thought he'd be great?
I agree Peach; we were so looking forward to a strong majority leader, but Frist has shown that he is weak kneed. Why these republicans continue to fall to the false reporting in the media is beyond me. We all know that old media is merely agenda driven, why our senators just don't get that is stunning. Frist really hurt himself on this issue by spewing his thoughts before he had any of the facts.
Hi, snugs. When people like Frist have a large staff who can actually do research for them, I don't understand why they don't avail themselves of that before they make public pronouncements.
IS CHUCKY GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE HORROR OF TERRORISTS GETTING A HOLD OF THE SHIP'S MANIFOLD. Chuck Schumer: Terrorists Could Alter Ship's Manifold LOL
Hi, Laverne. I'll try to watch how Frist handles himself this morning but have a busy day and don't know how much I can actually listen to a grown man admit he acted impulsively without the facts.

Honest to Pete -- I think some of these guys should handle Freepers to do their research and give them a little PR guidance. We'd do a heck of a lot better than their current staffs.
Yes Snugs, that 's my fear. Did you hear Giuliani also sounding wishy washy on Ports deal?
My only hope now - Jeb & Condi.
Just in case health care or the Medicare prescription plan comes up in discussion with Frist today, this is an article about how those who can afford it are turning to private health care in Canada versus the lousy nationalized health care.

Really pisses me off how utterly PR stupid Republican Congress critters are. Time for them to quit falling for the "Prove your independent of the President" DNC Talking Point. It buys them ZERO gains with their Junk Journalist ideological foes and only alienates their friends.
Heck, if they were smart they'd at least monitor this place. They'd know right away if something is about to blow up in their faces.
But, but, but,,, don't you know that pubbies are just right-wing, and extreme right-wing, fanatics? There IS no center!
Curious, just what can a POTUS do to a Senator to "Take them to the woodshed"?
Second and Third place:

First Place!

And a special "Good Job Award" to Alan Simpson for his defending the VP against the rabid press:
Good morning Alas,
C=span is interviewing governors ..... the dem gov of WY was amazing! He is pushing for clean coal technology. Not a typical pol at all! He is an engineer and told a great story about his dog. He takes his border collie everywhere with him and some repubs were questioning that.....he learned that his dog has higher pol numbers than he does so he's watching how the dog reacts with people. Doggie wags his tail when he meets someone he likes and walks away if he doesn't like them! Says he's learned a lot from his dog.
Your shows don't start for another hour here.
Very True MNJohnnie. It is a shame that they think they will be ignored by the party faithful.
In the case of the UK they are faxed to the US prior to the boat selling by THE SHIPPING LINE so how is the operator of the port going to alter them.
Yes I did hear it was a bit like Kerry being for it before being against and then for it again total sit on the fence.
Reagan reference, of course.
Definitely. Maybe when we call their offices about various issues, we should mention FR and how to handle key word searches. Tell them they'd need to sign up for a screen name in order to do searches though.
Morning snugs,
It's more like posturing now to see if a candidate can get traction for the future. The press loves the early start but front runners are not always the eventual candidate anyway. It's a competition to see who will claim to predict the candidate first. Meaningless but for the bragging rights.
LOL. I'll watch for the "rovianstorm" screen name.
Looks like Feinswine's been seeing Paula Poundstone's tailor... what a clown-suit!
Hi Johnnie, yeah, you're probably right.
Backbone? You want backbone? ROFLOL Yeah, right.
