Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) has introduced the long-awaited bill that is to be the "vehicle" for the Senate's response to the House's tough immigration enforcement bill (H.R. 4437). Many initial media accounts described Specter's bill as a "middle ground." But it may be the most radical open-borders legislation ever introduced in America.

I am sure Jorge Arbusto will approve of it.
So this is Specter's thank you gift to Bush for saving him from being beaten in the primary before his last Senate run.
Disgusting, he should be locked up for even suggesting legislation like this.
Ok, so how many paychecks do I need to sign over to them?
I'm so mad at Jorge about his open borders, they both should be locked up.
If the senate response is the same old shell game that they always play on us (i.e., let the house propose what we want and pass it, then have the senate reject it and/or postpone it until Tuesday).
If you think that Bush would have signed into law the house version of the bill you are deluding yourself. Bush has nothing ot do with Specter proposing this bill.
Wonder if Spector has any idea or even cares how many folks think he is an ass?
Bush has everything to do with this bill and if you can't see that it's you who is deluded.
Bush will eventually either sign stricter legislation or have to sit and cry when his veto is overidden.
Far more likely that if the house version would go through, then he would sit and cry than sign the bill.
I have no doubt he would refuse to sign stricter legislation and that just proves how out of touch he is.
Bush will become a truly lame duck much sooner than he should have. He has become a liability to those republicans seeking re-election and everyone in the house and senate knows it.

The Senate is going to hear from us, with any luck they will come to understand, as did the House, that Americans are disgusted with the situation and are willing to toss the elected representatives to get the action we want.
The guy chopped up his girlfriend, and stored her in a trunk.
ONCE A RINO, ALWAYS A RINO.
As soon as we have a bill number for Scotty's Senate bill, I'll be burnin' up the Email pipes to my two Senators, telling them to vote Hell No on this monstrosity.
And I hereby give up all rights to the use of the phrase I just coined: Vote Hell No. Freely use it if you like.
Leave it to Specter to introduce a "terrorist friendly" bill.
That can not be politically correct. hehe
Hey Specter is paying his debt, what do you expect?
One of needs a </ Sarcasm> tag at the end, not sure which.
Maybe not but he was a great P.I. if you are old enought to remember that thin, you remember a better time.
So we should accept open-borders legislation and deal with it?
Bush has nothing to do with Specter proposing this bill.
Will he veto it though?
Alas, I'm old enough to remember!!!
He stated that he pulled parts from other bills and doesn't necessarily agree with everything in his bill.
I like their free faxing option and use it every time they email me, much to Senator Dayton and Coleman's chagrin.
Sadly, Normy votes like a dim on this issue most of the time.
Here in S.E. Florida, Mexicans work hard as can be. I have little problem with those here legally. Just pay your taxes and observe the laws. And they send a good portion of their earned income home to provide for their relatives.
Do it all legally and learn the freakin language, ENGLISH else wise their children will always be second rate citizens.
