Honor Our Troops! | Thank you for your service!!!! | We Support Our Troops

Posted on 02/27/2006 6:58:45 PM PST by GummyIII

We Support Our Troops!  For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday... Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces.

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT:  Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Five Top Desktop Search Applications
Make it easier on yourself!

Google Desktop 2 has a clean interface; quick access to online and local apps and files; more than 100 plug-ins, with more sure to come from third-party developers.   The Google Desktop does a mixed job anticipating the content you want. Still, it provides a handy link to files, apps, and Web sites that you access the most, and its search is powerful, too.

Yahoo desktop search lets you quickly find all your emails, attachments and files. Instantly preview results--view search results as quickly as you can type with your search terms highlighted. Find and play audio and video files without launching a separate media player. Customize and control your desktop search experience- Save your favorite searches for one-click reuse. Search the Web using Yahoo! Search from the same interface. Ensure your privacy by not indexing your Web browser history. Set indexing options by file type, email client, and contacts.

Powerful search functions; indexes large amounts of data. Slightly buggy; archaic interface; expensive.  Most users are better off using free desktop search tools, but power users will appreciate the enormous control offered by DtSearch.

Well-crafted interface; fast performance. Needs more file viewers; doesn't display graphics in PowerPoint files; doesn't search the entire Web. While it doesn't search the Internet, Copernic Desktop Search locates all file types on your hard drive and offers a pleasing interface.

Adds tabbed browsing to Internet Explorer; includes desktop search; lets you select your own default Internet search engine; saves and updates favorite desktop searches.Only available for Windows 2000 or Windows XP; requires 1,024x768 screen resolution; can't download tabbed IE browsing or MSN toolbar without desktop search; slower than other desktop search tools. MSN Search Toolbar with Windows Desktop Search is a must-have app for die-hard Microsoft fans, adding metadata desktop search and tabbed browsing to IE.

Check out some of the latest in IM tools with VOIP!!

Neat extensions for FireFox!

ForeCast Fox

Get international weather forecasts from AccuWeather.com, and display it in any toolbar or statusbar.

IE View

Lets you load pages in IE with a single right-click, or mark certain sites to *always* load in IE. Useful for incompatible pages in FireFox, or cross-browser testing.

GoogleTabs

Adds a context menu option to open Google search results in tabs. Compatible with Web, Images, News, Groups, Froogle, and Local; also compatible with Google Group homepages  and Google News.

ColorZilla

Gget a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. Zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page.

(Click on the picture or link for more information on each of the above)

GummyIII is not responsible for any problems resulting in use of the above.  If you get in trouble for IM'ing or talking too much, see MoJo...she knows how to get out of hot water.  Gummy started to put links to tax software and decided she did not want the headaches that could result from the aforementioned.  Therefore, do a google search on free tax software or go to cnet.com and do a search.  There are lots of reviews on each one.

Equal Access

Read:
Psalm 145:14-21

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. —Hebrews 4:16

Bible In One Year: Numbers 20-22; Mark 7:1-13

coverPastor Stuart Silvester told me of a conversation he had with an acquaintance who frequently flew his small private plane in and out of Toronto International Airport. He asked the pilot if he ever encountered problems taking off and landing a small craft at an airport that was dominated by so many large jets. His friend responded, "My plane may be small, but I have the same rights, the same privileges, and the same access to that airport as anyone else—even the jumbo jets!"

Pastor Silvester then made this spiritual application: "It's the same with prayer, with the believer's approach to the throne of grace. No matter who we are or how small we are in comparison with others or how low our station in life, we take a back seat to no one. No one is given priority treatment."

In a world that offers preferential treatment to the wealthy, the famous, and the influential, it's encouraging to know that every child of God has equal access to the Father in heaven. The psalmist said, "The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18).

With that assurance, we can "come boldly to the throne of grace" in prayer, knowing that our loving God will never turn us away. —Richard De Haan

There never is a night or day
When God can't hear us as we pray;
There is no time, there is no place
That we're beyond His love and grace. —D. De Haan

Prayer is an open line to heaven.
