Radicals blow up Bible Society building in Gaza

Gaza (MNN) -- Armed militants threatened to blow up the building that houses the Palestine Bible Society office in Gaza on February 28th unless leaders shut its doors. The promise was fulfilled yesterday.
E3 Partners Tom Doyle describes what happening. "The Muslim terrorists broke the windows in and then threw in home-made bombs in the building. They sprayed out Bible Society of Gaza and wrote, leave our land. Get out of here. God is greater. Following in the footsteps of the prophet Mohammed."
Doyle says the attitude of Christians in the region is incredible. "They feel bad about the building. They're thankful nobody was hurt. We told them that Mission Network News had put this out and thousands of people were praying around. Over and over they were saying, 'thank the good people for praying for us because we just sensed God's presence in the midst of this and we weren't afraid."
Hamas, now in power in Gaza, did not claim responsibility, but ironically blamed the attack on a more radical Muslim group. Doyle doesn't expect the situation to get any better. "You've got Hamas, you have al Qaeda in, you have Hezbollah -- the Iranian group, and we just saw that the Iranians are giving $250 million dollars to Hamas. This is a terrorist group leading the government."
While these attacks are intended to curtail the spread of the Gospel, Doyle says it's doing just the opposite. "You see believers that have before had a little bit of fear all of a sudden just feel the presence of God and the spirit welling up in them and they become more brave and more out there with their faith. And so, whenever there's persecution, good things happen."
Pray for E3 Partners in the days ahead, because they're planning a training conference. "Next month we have our biggest meeting ever in the Middle East. 150 pastors will be meeting for five days of planning, training, prayer and strategy involvement in their area to come up with hopefully God's plan to get the Gospel out in a better way and to reach more people and to plant more churches."
Funding is need to help sponsor pastors in this area of the world where God is working in a mighty way.

What's the difference between claiming responsibility and condoning an act of terror? Hamas does nothing but deny responsibility.

If the mainstream media were objective, something like this would certainly merit prominent coverage. But of course since it involves Muslim wrongdoing, it will be ignored or downplayed...

Welcome to Dihimitude. All the lefty churchmen with their fashionable theology have elected Palestinian Emir Stork over the Israeli Prime Minister Log. Today it's in Gaza. Tomorrow... or even this afternoon it will be in Westminster Abbey.

These are the same nice people who so many left-leaning Christian organizations are defending over their "mistreatment" by Israel.
In the past, I had often wondered how Hitler and his boys could possibly get away with the stuff they did, on their way into power. It didn't make sense that folks wouldn't spot the obvious.
I don't really wonder anymore ... we're seeing the same thing now, in how the left (and don't forget Pat Buchanan) defend the Islamic fascists.

Ping!
Imagine if Christians had blown up a Koran society building somewhere! The riots, burnings, lootings, and howls for "jihad" (for the umpteenth time) would be heard on the moon.

Nothing new here. In many places in Kosovo, churches were burnt or destroyed. For an example, see the movie
here. Scroll down about 1/4 down the page to the CNSNews.com picture and click. (Sorry it is a French website....)

Thank you. I am bookmarking this one.
Whenever the church is persecuted, that is the time of it's greatest growth. And remember Jesus words, "They hated me, don't be surprised if they hate you." We all need to pray for these Christians and all the Christians in Palestine and Israel. They are going to have a great persecution in the coming years. The muslims also need to know Christ and his good news. That is the only solution to this conflict. Another thought, you'll never see this story on TV.

What a cruel joke. These animals can't even live in peace with Arab Christians within their own territory.

Ahh, American promoted "democracy" in actionand the inevitable fruit of pressuring the Israelis to execute their own war on Islamic terror with half measures.
Now we wait for "the responsibilities of government" to "moderate" HAMAS.

While they are busy saying peace, peace, they are really planning to divide and destroy her and give her away to the highest bidder. The world has plans to steal Jerusalem from it's rightful owner and make Jerusalem her own to do with what they want, probably some global world religious center to bring all the peoples, religions or the world together in unity, a type of religius UN. All the nations are coming up against Israel and cursing her in my opinion.
There have been meetings, building plans, street names chosen already etc. What do you think will happen next and what will the unified religious group do next.
There will be a temple, there will be a false messiah, and there will be much deception.

UPDATE:
Bible Society building damaged in Ramallah Posted on March 6th: 2006
Ramallah (MNN) -- Christians in the Palestinian controlled areas of Israel are asking Christians around the world to continue praying for them, despite erroneous information being reported.
Because of a language barrier and miscommunications with people on the ground in the area,
E3 Partners erroneously reported to Mission Network News that the Palestine Bible Society building in Gaza was blown up. E3 Partners Tom Doyle says, "What happened, Greg, is it was another Bible Society. It was not the one in Gaza. It was another one in the West Bank called the Living Stones, in a place called Beir Zeit and that one was fire bombed. The one in Gaza was threatened to be bombed on the 28th or afterwards and that threat is very much still alive."
According to Doyle, this violence will only escalate as radical Islamic groups move in to the region. "With the cartoons, and some of the things that are coming out of Iran, with some of the threats, it just seems to be a real difficult point right now in the Middle East and so believers are just asking that we would pray for them."
Despite the increase threat and hostilities, Doyle says these believers are amazing. "Instead of going and hiding they are serving Christ with a passion and reaching out to people. They are certainly brothers and sisters that we can be very proud of in their courageous stand for Christ."
In the mean time, be praying for the E3 Partners pastors conference that's being held in the Middle East in a few weeks.
