MILWAUKEE -- A relative discovered a 23-year-old man dead in the front seat of a car Friday still embracing a dead 17-year-old girl.

Their nude bodies were inside a closed garage in the front seat of a 1978 Cutlass. They had apparently been having sex when they were overcome by carbon monoxide, 12 News reported.

The medical examiner said the deaths appear accidental.

The two were not found for nearly a day. The man's mother became worried because she could not reach him on his cell phone Friday morning.

"She called his cousin, who lived nearby, to help her track him down. He's the one who looked inside the garage and found the bodies," WISN 12 News reporter Nick Bohr said.

"Carbon monoxide can accumulate very rapidly. It's just something you don't want to take a chance with," said Dr. Ken Schellhase, of the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Schellhase said warming up a car in a closed garage is one of the most dangerous things you can do, much less staying in the car as it idles.

He said the symptoms can be hard to recognize.

"The symptoms are pretty non-specific. It can include things like headache, dizziness, a general sense of ill ease," Schellhase said.

Sleepiness is also a symptom.

"Those are often the most tragic circumstances where people fall asleep, and there's a carbon monoxide leak of some sort. The dose is overwhelming," Schellhase said.

Schellhase said it is unusual for someone to be overcome so quickly, but it's not clear how long they may have been in the car prior to having sex.

According to the medical examiner's report, the carbon monoxide levels the garage got so intense at some point that the car itself choked off for lack of oxygen.

The car still had one-quarter of a tank of gas.

Tragic, but I can think of far worse ways to die than fading out while getting laid.

A newer car would take a while if the engine was in good shape.

Well...at least the 'official' girlfriend finds out sooner rather than later what her beau was made of.

Not only did she lose her boyfriend, she lost him while he was in her car cheating on her. I feel sorry for her, but you're right, she found out who he really was!

Not long ago, an entire family of 5 was killed by carbon monoxide.

The husband came home drunk...as usual, and left the car running in the garage.

This happened in Silver Spring, Maryland.

One victim was found dead with the water running and a shaver in his hand...another died propped up in bed...was apparently reading.

Surprised there isn't a law or county code enacted to seal attached garages. I sure don't like bedrooms over garages...these huge master suites.

You should post the end lyrics, as that is the best part of the song.

And the feelin came up on my like a tidal wave.
I started swearin to my god and on my mother's grave
that I would love you till the end of time
I swore I'd love you till the end of time.

So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive.
Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I could really survive.

I'd never break my promise or forget my vow
but god only knows what I could do right now.
Prayin for the end of time is all that I could do (do-do!)
Prayin for the end of time, so I can end my time with you!

Oh... they always drove top of the line transportation. And I don't think they worried about the speed of death's arrival. I just think that their egos got the best of them... and neither one could talk the other out of it. That is bizarre. But, they did EVERYTHING together. Appears that suicide is no exception.

"They were proud of their suicide."

How do you know?

This is still my favorite "Death By Doing IT" Story

Mile-High Club Failure

1994 Darwin Award Nominee Confirmed True by Darwin

(23 December 1991, Florida) This account of an aircraft accident is quoted directly from the National Transportation Safety Board report, with comments added in [brackets] for clarity.
Aircraft: PIPER PA-34-200T, Registration: N47506
Injuries: 2 Fatal.

The private pilot and a pilot rated passenger [two pilots] were going to practice simulated instrument flight. Witnesses observed the airplane's right wing fail in a dive and crash. Examination of the wreckage and bodies revealed that both occupants were partially clothed and the front right seat was in the full aft reclining position. [The pilots had converted the co-pilot seat to a bed.] Neither body showed evidence of seatbelts or shoulder harnesses being worn. [They were lying on the bed.] Examination of the individuals' clothing revealed no evidence of ripping or distress to the zippers and belts. [Their lack of clothing seemed to be voluntary.]

The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows:

The pilot in command's improper in-flight decision to divert her attention to other activities not related to the conduct of the flight. [The pilot and co-pilot were having sex, and nobody was flying the plane.] Contributing to the accident was the exceeding of the design limits of the airplane leading to a wing failure. [The lack of a pilot caused the plane to fly erratically, over-stressing the wing and leading to a crash.]

OOOOPPPPSSSssss

How would you like to arrive at the pearly gates after croaking while cheating on your girlfriend by screwing an underage girl?

"Oh, hi, Gabriel...I guess I shouldn't even ask, huh?"

The exact same thing happened here in Chicago about...actually less than a month ago. A 17 boy and his 14 y/o girlfriend both found dead in the garage. Shame, his mother just bought that car for him too.

If I wasn't freepin at work, I'd post a link for ya. Well, as you all say, Darwin. They still teach carbon dioxide poisoning etc in school don’t they

I know them. They only ever thought of themselves. They constantly traded up spouses, following that dollar. They raised their children as afterthought's. They ignored some siblings because they were "beneath" them. Their entire lives were about airing stuff.

One of them told me on my birthday the most memorable thing. She held my face in her hands and looked deep into my eyes and told me "The secret."... that I could get anything I ever wanted in life from a man. Then she asked... Doesn't that make you feel powerful?

Yuck.
