Cartoons Used to Make Me Laugh, Now They Make Me Cry "Fire!"
Accuracy in Media ^ | February 28, 2006 | Julia A. Seymour

"When a thinking person sees or reads something that offends them in a newspaper, they write a letter to the editor; they don't torch KFC. Clearly, there is more than a touch of irony in the violent reactions of Muslims around the world as a result of these cartoons."

Tolerating Islamist intolerance

EXCERPTS:

Crucially, it is precisely this tolerance of intolerance that has allowed vocal and violent radicalised Islamist minorities to silence Muslim majorities and to transform the global image of Islam into the grotesque parody of the faith that the Danish cartoons sought - perhaps indelicately - to reflect.

Europe would be, not only foolish, but suicidal, if it succumbs to this terrorism and coercion to invent new curbs on the media and on the freedom of speech.

once again...

the cartoon rioting came after the mullahs started to take heat about muslims killing muslims. The cartoons in question were 5 or 6 months old. (no rioting when published)...doesn't anyone remember the game "Bop a Mullah?" This whole cartoon thing was brought up to deflect the attention the leaders of the fanatics were starting to get. Of course our MSM,Al jazarra west, the NYTimes and any other liberal rag did their part.

The ones committing these violent acts, probably aren't thinking.

""The ones committing these violent acts, probably aren't thinking.""

They probably never even seen the cartoons, just looking for a reason to be what they really are...

It is not a grotesque parody of the islamic faith. Nor is it some strange radicalized part of the faith, it is the faith in all of its intolerant, cruel, hatefulness!

I wish journalist would get their collective heads out of the sand and study islam and figure out what they are writing about not just wishing or guessing that it is something different than it is.

Yes I'm Julia Seymour. I wrote this article, but I post as many original stories that come from AIA as possible because they employ me.

"the global image of Islam into the grotesque parody of the faith that the Danish cartoons sought - perhaps VERY ACCURATELY - to reflect."
