Just how stoned was David Gregory yesterday on Imus? Will this story have never happened by sometime tomorrow? Will the old media be successful in covering for him?
Or, will David get handed a cup when he comes home?

Maybe it was something about those delicious brownies he bought from the outdoor deli in New Delhi.

The dude is a moron, he is there to report the news and he made the #1 mistake for a journalist he became the news. Very unprofessional of him.
To: Mo1
No, he wasn't drunk. He was either stoned or pretending to be. Either way he has disgracred himself and his network AGAIN. Not that I care much, I haven't watched NBC news since they started blowing up the gas tanks of pick-up trucks.

I think it will come down to having an image to go with the story. What we have is a radio interview...what we need are some photo shop experts to keep it on everyones desktop

I just phoned this NBC number and asked if David Gregory would be drug tested when he returns from India: (201) 583-5000. The number didn't go to a switchboard, but went directly to some guy in the news dept. He asked if I was serious in my question and I said that I was, since it was obvious that Mr. Gregory was under the influence of something when he spoke with Don Imus yesterday.

I wonder if David Gregory has any idea that we know he was high? And in the morning to boot! I would think that if he was, the powers that be would punish him. Ethics are ethics and they should apply to everyone top to bottom!

Gregory appeared twice on Imus' show yesterday. The first was the farce everyone is celebrating. A few minutes later, miraculously recovered, Imus had him on the phone tittering on about the first call. Everybody had a silly laugh and moved on. Kinda like when the NY Post reported Imus had fired Sid Rosenberg on the air.
Came up again this morning as Imus blasted O'Reilly for going after Gregory.
Can't say I'm unhappy to see Gregory twist in the wind a bit, though.

Not sticking up for him, of course, but in India it was around 5:30PM when he called in (7AM in New York).

Interesting. You started this thread five minutes after I told you I thought you were drinking the kool aid.
Have some doubts?
You are just making it worse by perpetuating this non-story.

It's a running joke on Imus to be accusing guests that call in of being drunk.
What was interesting in this case was how they couldn't get him off the air fast enough. It was very obvious they were trying to protect him.

Bill O'Riley defended Gregory on his program last night saying he was probably just tired. I only watched O'Riley to hear what he was saying about the situation. I had no idea he was going to defend DG.
