"Oprah probably directly influences at least ONE MILLION voters who wopuld never even go to the polls except to do as she tells them."

Oprah's audience is much bigger than that. She has a similarly huge following in other countries.

I have never purposely watched Oprah. I did happen to have the set on when her show came on several years ago. I watched for a few minutes, basically curious who she was.

At first, I thought she was pretty nice. She was polite to her guests but just about when I had started to like her, she came up with some typical leftist drivel. I turned the channel and haven't watched her again.

Oprah pushes the culture of "female victimhood" where everytime a woman screws up, its because of men.

The show is designed to make women insecure about themselves, and then they turn around, and torture the men in their lives over it.

There are so many lemmings following behind her, she'll depopulate the country if she ever runs into the sea.

It'd probably be pretty good for the Republican party as well, LOL.

""I think of her as the human embodiment of Wal-Mart," said Kevvy Schlaucher, a 25-year-old engineer from Calgary, Canada, [...] I think she's got more influence now than George W. Bush does.""

The idiot is confused.

I have NEVER watched her show (not surprising since I am a heterosexual male). But, I will say this: in the early 1990s I found myself at a business lunch at a North Carolina restaurant and Oprah and a few of her staff were at the next table. She treated the waitstaff very nicely which impressed me.

I rejected her a long time ago. I don't need Oprah to tell me what books are good readers, or what food to eat. Then watch her walk across a stage pulling a child's cart loaded with animal fat saying this is how much fat I lost, and a couple of months later here she is looking

When Oprah's show first came on in the 80s, she was a refreshing face on the talk show scene. That did not last for long. She became too, full of self. That is where she is today.

You have a great attitude!

After I graduated high school in 1989, I finally decided to change my attitude toward myself and toward life around me. All through high school I always tried to live by high expectations, and always came up short. I finally stopped trying to kid myself and start being more honest with myself, and knew that certain goals would be out of reach. It's easier to set a series of short goals rather than one big goal.

I need to take a page from your book.

You're welcome to it. :)

Are all Oprah viewers the Peggy Bundy type? I can't help but picture a bunch of overweight women sitting at home watching Oprah and soap Oprahs.

Back a few years ago, in our local area, Oprah's staff got wind of this story.

Two local high school teams played each other, and one of the member of the opposing team had Down's Syndrome. The coach put him in, and he scores a winning touchdown. It was a really uplifting story, and just so happened that the opposing coach was also a minister. He was a lady that worked at the same company that I did's son in law, so we were all copied via email to watch the show.

Anyway, the coach was scheduled to appear on her show, and we all tuned in. I was suprised when he only appeared in the audience for a few very brief comments at the end of the show. In an email from his mother in law, seems he was prepped before coming on, to not to mention God, and how that moved him to make this a special night for the young man. That didn't sit well with the Oprah staff, so he was delegated to a blurb at the end of the show. Sad.

He suffered in garden and He suffered on the cross, so my sufferings are nothing in comparison to what He had to endure. :)

For the good she does for those who truly need it, I applaud her, but when she gives her studio audience each gifts adding into the thousands of dollars, I call that blythely parading her wealth, making it part of "show biz", thus it really amounts to a high tax write-off.
There is simply something about her spirit that my spirit finds repelling. So sign me up, too, Scottie!

"If you don't like Oprah, there's got to be something wrong with you," said Kelly Cook, a 24-year-old from New York City who calls herself an "Oprah fanatic."

There is something wrong with me.

True enough. :) I think I'll watch my Passion of the Christ DVD this weekend. :)

My prayers are with you.

I love Oprahs audience... They prove American women generally know as much about politics or anything else as Al Gore..

Oprah will get Hillary elected.. her show is wired into RINO womens brains..
