Democrat for Senate: Kill practicing 'gays' Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough Posted: March 7, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern

© 2006 WorldNetDaily.com

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.

Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

"Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.

Keiser, 61, says he's running as a Democrat because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education – something he claims DeWine is not promoting.

"I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts," he told the Sandusky Register. "To get good men on the court, we need good senators."

Some of Keiser's other positions include defense of the Second Amendment, securing U.S. borders, lower taxes to stimulate the economy, support of Israel and prayer in public schools.

Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.

The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence.

"The teaching of evolution works against the liberties we have in the United States," he told the paper. If a person believe in evolution, he or she "has no rights," he's quoted saying.

He also opposes the United Nations, abortion on demand and thinks so-called global warming is a false concern.

Liberal blogger Deborah White was less than thrilled with Keiser's candidacy and the media's response to it.

"What if this hate-filled moron called for the execution of all blacks or all Jews?" she asked. "Would the public outcry be similarly subdued? Would the press still report it as a cute curiosity or merely an alternative viewpoint? Where is moral outrage in 2006?"

White speculated Keiser was planted by the GOP.

"He must be a Republican plant," she wrote. "Please ... someone tell me I'm correct."

What she can't seem to comprehend is that he's a democrat...that's why the MSM is giving him cover. If he were a republican there would be such outrage they would be rioting as far away as Karachi.

The wages of sin is death. Most of us deserve to die.
That's not to say what we do is excusable. We ought
to hold ourselves to higher standards and we ought
to have some punishment for crimes. But calling for
killing homosexuals is overboard. Jesus _did_ save the
adultress from stoning. There was a reason for that.

Actually, we ALL deserve to die...however Jesus has paid that penalty for all who accept God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Just to clarify, in no way do I agree with this democrat's desire to make homosexuality a crime punishable by death. I am just posting the article to bring this democrat's platform to light.

Also, I see you've registered today...welcome to FR.

I agree with you. Death? Come on that is way much. How about a deserted island. LOL. The thing with MSM giving him cover is because the person is a nobody and nobody cares what filth falls from his mouth. He has no chance of winning. If a conservative Republican said this it would cause outrage because that person is important in life. IMHO.

However, homosexuality and murder were both endorsed as being worthy of Capital Punishment in the New Testament by Paul.

Jesus did not come to Judge the world as yet, but to save it, His message was to repent and be saved. So was Paul, but Paul also spelled out just how bad some sins were.

Romans 1 Paul clearly says that homosexuals deserved death. He did not tell Christians to create laws for it, though, but he said it does deserve death.

The thing with MSM giving him cover is because the person is a nobody and nobody cares what filth falls from his mouth.

David Duke was a nobody too, but the media gave him tons of attention. That is because David Duke allowed the media to smear Republicans. Smearing Democrats is not something the media cares to do because Democrats are good and this does not fit their stereotype of what a Democrat is. This guy is one of two Democratic Senate candidates. Give the guy the publicity he deserves.

The wages of sin is death.
Pretty convenient when those who proclaim to be messengers of God get to define "sin." The above statement contains truth only to the extent of karma, i.e. your actions determine what you get in life. For instance, injecting heroin, standing in the middle of the interstate, or committing acts of homosexual sodomy are in fact likely to lead to death.

Most of us deserve to die.

We'll all die. That we deserve to die prematurely is a load of horse hockey, unless, as described above, we engage in activities that lead to premature death.

Maybe he is really a Muslim. At dinner last week I listened to two sheltered women extol homosexuality as normal in history. So I looked up one assertion that Islam thought homosexuality normal and found it denounced as worse than murder. Punishment: throw from a tall building to death.

In reality, not only are dems stuck with moonbats, but they have the least educated too. This guy sounds like George Wallace reincarnated.

Typical of the gross ignoranance and lack of understanding. Naively spoken by someone whose religion was the basis for the worst mass murderers in all of recorded history. The atrocities of Stalin, Mao and their other Atheist friends makes the killings of the Islamofacists look like child's play. Where was Moral Outrage during '92 - '02 presidency??

This candidate may be nuts, but I'd vote for him just to shake things up. Alternately, If he was trying for the office of Czar, he's in the wrong race. :-)

Apparently, the wages of righteousness is also death, at least in the corporeal sense. And in the unforgettable words of that great American Western anti-hero, "Deserves got nothin' to do with it."

I do not see why this is surprising. Democrats are virulent anti-gay when it suits their political purposes. Remember when they chased a Republican Senate candidate out of the 2002 race by suggesting he was homosexual. And, of course, the whole slander of Chaney's daughter in the last campaign. I would say this guy is mainline Democrat.

This guy IS getting publicity. He was on TV and in the paper. Now, not being from Ohio, I have no idea what kind of TV station WTOL-TV or what kind of newspaper the Sandusky Register is, but if the media didn't want to make Dems look bad, they wouldn't have ran this story at all. However, I leave open the possibility that these are very tiny media outlets and the story may stay limited to them. I guess I'm just thinking out loud more than anything.
