That is so sad! They have a son who's still pretty young, don't they? That poor kid!

It's not unusual for a loving spouse to die soon after they lose theirs; especially when you have a caretaker situation. I've seen it happen many times to the older generation of men/women in my family.

But I'll bet Chris and Dana are whoopin' it up in Heaven right now, riding horses and having a great time. :)

I'll jump right in with a very large assumption, and invite a load of abuse at the same time. I'm guessing she was a smoker; another victim of the cigarette industry.

You guessed wrong. She was a non-smoker.

No, she never smoked and was very health conscience. You could have found that bit of information out from prior reports when she announced she had cancer.

Seems the disease runs in her family, her mother passed away from ovarian cancer a few years back.

So if sha had smoked and died of lung cancer at the young age of 44, that would have been fair?

No, she didn't smoke. But if she had, she would not have been a "victim" of the tobacco industry.

CBS News: Reeve's is one of those rare cases of lung cancer in people who've never smoked.

Though she did not smoke, much discussion has centered around her pre-marriage career as a cabaret singer in small, crowded, unventilated rooms full of smokers.

No flaming here ... as a reformed smoker, I am rabidly against it. But she was not a smoker and never had smoked.

Here is a little bit of the story:

Other than the worst kind of slimeball and ghoul, as well as presumptuous and arrogant, what can possibly be added?

Imagine smoking didn't exist.

Then what would the doctors blame lung cancer on?

Get tobacco entirely out of the picture and there will still be lung cancer.

Whatever your beef with smoking, we would all be better off if all the money pissed away on lame ad campaigns, stupid billboards, and propaganda crusades had been spent on basic cancer research and finding cures for cancer regardless of what the cancer is blamed on.
