I burned my draft card. It was worth a laugh. I did it with three of my friends while we were sitting on a stoop drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. Oh! I forgot. We were also wearing fatigues, were volunteer, enlisted soldiers in the U.S. Army, and were on the stoop in front of our barracks. Could never understand why the army insisted I get a draft card after volunteering.

How DARE you call Baby Boomers "BUMS!"
I believe the correct terminology is "Spongers."
And I think they coined the expression "me time."

You made it sound like Boomers were just waiting for their parents' money, that they weren't productive.

To some degree yes..Many Boomers I know were given everything they wanted by thier parents. But I know many of people that would not dare stick thier parents in a nursing home and will be there for Mom and Dad..I know I will..

Maybe that's why all the paintings looked so pretty. ;)
Nah, when I stopped being a child I "put away childish things", and my drug of choice these days is single malt scotch. :)

How odd.... I never saw Twinkies.... we went for the salty munchies. A regional difference, perhaps?

Did I indicate you should have done anything? That screen name ....... you aren't Webster Hubbell are you? No, I assumed that was what you were driving at and you probably know the meaning of ass-u-me. LOL
No, I am not Webster Hubbell. I had no imagination when I registered years ago and have to live with it.

you can stuff your post #5 up your own, buTT not most of the rest of ours. Claiming ASA means nothing to what you wrote except whatever you think it means......you speak for yourself, not me or most of the rest of us.

I get so sick of this whiny "the baby boomers are responsible for all the evils in the world" crapola.
You are right on Vietnam Survivor! As always, the bad few make the news and are covered extensively.
BTW, thank you for your service to our country.

But I know many of people that would not dare stick thier parents in a nursing home and will be there for Mom and Dad..I know I will.. I took care of my Dad for the last 10 years of his life (he had a brain disease similar to Alzheimer's).It was difficult, particularly toward the end,but I'm glad I did it. My Dad was so good to all of us that it would have been a sin to put him in a home in his time of need.

I was in college 1969-1973 and I didn't do any of that BS either. I even registered in 1972 as a REPUBLICAN. I never liked smelly hippies.
