As the U.S. enters its fourth year in Iraq, former President Jimmy Carter slammed the war as completely unnecessary and unjust, and called for a withdrawal of U.S. forces, The Associated Press news agency reported.
It was a completely unnecessary war. It was an unjust war," said Carter, the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
"It was initiated on the basis of false pretenses. All of those are true, but we can't just pre-emptively withdraw."
Carter also demanded the Bush Administration to bring home as many troops as possible within the next year.
"The violence is increasing monthly," he said. "My prayer is we'll see some kind of democracy eventually evolve."

There are reasons why Jimmy Carter lost by a landslide.
The US presence is, in part, the answer to your prayer, knucklehead.
the peanut farmer.
Carter kind of looks like CAIN from the movie Poltergeist 2
I don't care what Carter says. I have never cared what Carter says. Today I care less what Carter says than I ever cared before!
From the man who was resoundingly tossed out of the White House because most Americans were tired of watching the country go to hell in a handbasket.
I've always wondered if some of his activities since then haven't been a way to get even.
I'm going to have nightmares tonight
and I call for Carter's withdrawal of his head from his butt
So who will listen to the worse President in American history? And he's senile to boot. However, I've decided that when the Democrats get back into the Whitehouse I will not support their use of our troops even if Canada or Mexico attacks us.
Carter approved the Dubai Deal, too.
I call for Carter to withdrawal from the human race.
"I've always wondered if some of his activities since then haven't been a way to get even."
Well, according to Michael Reagan, he went to Moscow in '84 to try and work a deal with the Soviets to get Reagan defeated. Deserving of execution if that is indeed true, IMO.
The democratic playbook is soo predictable these days:
Carter and the dems keep calling for troop withdrawls so when they do actually happen, they can claim it was all because of them.
someone needs to wake Mr. Carter up and tell him he's not the president anymore.
During his murderous reign, Hussein was responsible for about 50,000 deaths per year. Perhaps the SOB peanut farmer needs to consider all of the innocent people saved because of what our brave soldiers have done.
I wish that rabbit had killed him.
What is the KafKaz center?
Anyhow, in my erstwhile youth, I voted for that imbecile....TWICE!
I was so wrong.
Incompetent boob. That's a kind way of putting his presidency.
Uhhh...How did he become President again? It`s one of lifes mysterys I can`t seem to figure out...Like why does always one sock seem to disappear from the dryer, why is Keith Richards still alive, why the UN exists..ect etc
Go join Al Qaeda and get it over with already Jimmy. You're boring the sh-t out of the rest of us.
| All of that said, I want to add... in my humble opinion. |
Simple: Payback for Nixon.
That election could have been won by any Democrat (even a clueless peanut farmer).
If we got hit wioth a nuclear bomb Carter would say it wasnt right to hit them back.
You just have to remember its Carter and fuggit about it.
The poor guy had his shot and threw it away, Sorry Jim but nobody cares what you say any longer.-------if they ever did.
Better yet, institutionalize him...he is delusional and believes he's still President. At any rate, he appears to be demented! He was always boring and a lousy President, but now he's behaving in a manner that is dangerous to the nation and borders on being treasonous.
From his picture, it looks like a state funeral coming soon. And none too soon I might add.

Sniff, I love you Jimmy, when I go, if I go first, I am considering YOU to take over Cuba for me.
I'm gonna pee on his headstone. Him and kennedy!
LLS
Of course we must withdraw from Iraq. The question is, when?
I believe it's just about as good as it will ever get for the Iraqi people. If they cannot make a government with the U. S. military standing guard they never will.
The odds against a democracy are not good. Middle Eastern nations have never shown themselves capable of self-government. The best we can probably hope for is a stable government and even that looks far from becoming a fact.
We should secure the oilfields and operate them under a U.S. protectorate and get out as safely and as quickly as we can. There is nothing more to be gained by spending more American lives and resources in Iraq.
We can do only so much. We did not take Iraq to raise.
I'm calling for Carter removal from the US.
Maybe he should call for troop withdrawal Clinton's mess in the Balkans first.
Why is this news? Hasn't this been his position all along?
Bin Laden must be kicking himself right now. If only he had struck 25 years earlier...
I know how you feel, can't wait.
LOL...The USS Goober
Why don't the idiot shut up-----He is more stupid than his brother Billy
He thinks he's president for life doesn't he? His comments are as irrelevant as Walter Cronkite musing about Dan Rather.
