An American who was among four Christian activists kidnapped last year in Iraq has been killed, a State Department spokesman said Friday.
The FBI verified that a body found in Iraq Friday morning was that of Tom Fox, 54, of Clear Brook, Va., spokesman Noel Clay said. He said he had no information on the other three hostages.
It amazes me how the friends of these hostages apply western values to the terrorists. For instance, when Daniel Pearl was kidnapped, I recall comments that the family called him Daniel so that the terrorists would see him as a person.
I am very sorry for this man. I am more sorry if his kidnapping caused the deaths of any American soldiers because of increased patrols.
I was sick to my soul when I heard this. It also sickens me to know that countless Iraqi Christians have been killed in this war -- being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
YES!
Religion of peace destroys peace activists' hope into pieces.
One peace activist bites the dust and the world is safer.

I expect this ole boy lost his head by being a dumba$$....America should heed this example....this is the result of being compassionate to these ignorant animals. There is only one solution...kill them all and let allah sort out the virgin eligible!!
>>Clay said he did not know how Fox was killed but said additional forensics will be done in the United States.<<
I can't imagine who will be stuck with the bill for transporting the remains back to the good ol' U.S. of A., and the post-mortem. Okay, yes I can, and it makes me sick.
Oh, that's right...liberals are hypocrites.
I was wondering about her last night, if she was still alive, how difficult it must be to keep someone captive, feed them, etc., for this length of time. Is it worth it from their perspective? Or do they get more prestige among their terror loving pals by dumping body parts in the street.
The reason Fox and others like him can protest war and wave banners proclaiming whatever, is that brave Americans protect their right to do so. At the point of a gun if necessary. Fox and people with bumper stickers reading: 'War isn't the Answer' need a heavy dose of honesty. They're hypocrites and stupid, to boot.
Yup. And I'd say he finally did.
Maybe all we need to do is take out Iran's nukes, but I suspect we'll end up having to destroy Mecca, a good deal of Syria, and Iran proper. Pinpoint accuracy in bombing, with little or no collateral damage is seen as a sign of weakness by the enemy.
What's mind-boggling is that these people, who say they act in God's Name, etc., refuse to believe that true evil exists in the world. Common sense and the Bible say otherwise.
That's a very good plan. Israel's been razing houses of terrorists, but this goes further and would likely get faster and better results.
yep.. thinking of the same person. think Extreme Liberalism is a sickness of the mind?
oh boy.. these whackos seem bent on a death wish
They don't take into account that they're living in another universe from the average Arab. Most are illiterate and brainwashed by the local mullahs and leaders. Hard to tell who's dumber, Fox or those who killed him...but I'd guess Fox.
I agree with everything you say. I pray for the comfort of his loved ones and I do feel for them, but he should not have come over here.
These people did not have any official capacity here and therefore, did not have the proper protection. Even those who come here on official work and are sponsored in by the military are taking some risk by doing it.
But those who just come willy-nilly into Iraq for their own purposes to do their own thing are nuts. It doesn't take a genius to recognize that and I simply don't understand these people just coming over here like it's some hot vacation spot.
Nor do I understand peaceniks who come here and think they'll be treated like kings by their terrorist friends. I'm sorry to say this, but Tom Fox appears to have learned the truth about these terrorists the hard way.
Great reply. Bingo.
Morning WCF,
Reminds me of the demented preacher in the old classical movie, "Zulu." (Love thy murderers)
The leftist libreal fool had the intellect to think one can pet the cobra, without a lethal bite.
The (religion of piss) that keeps on giving. One more liberal religious underling to take a "terrorist dirt nap."
"When will they ever learn????"

Have to tell you this. I met a Marine recruiter going into the local high school yesterday and thanked him. He looked puzzled and asked why he was being thanked. I said, "For your service. God bless you. The entire country is in your debt." (I was overwhelmed and almost in tears.) He grinned and nodded and said, "You're welcome". We both knew what we were talking about.
He certainly was! By sympathizing and speaking out on behalf of the terrorist "insurgents" in Iraq, he was harming our military service members, as well as the peaceful citizens of Iraq who want to be free of these (mostly foreign) terrorists more than we do. How many US soldiers and innocent Iraqis have died because the terrorists are continually empowered and given moral (as well as financial) support by sympathizers like Tom Fox and his ilk?
When a "citizen" (in this case, as defined by birth, not by loyalty) travels to a foreign country, particularly one where our military is actively engaged in war, and sympathizes with our enemy, giving them aid and comfort, then that person is no longer a citizen as far as I am concerned. He is a traitor. And traitors deserve to die. I find it particularly ironic -- and just -- when they die at the hands of those with whom they are sympathizing.
My regret is not that Tom Fox was killed by his fanatical, homicidal Muslim brethren, but that others like him have not met the same fate. Jane Fonda dying at the hands of the NVA/Vietcong would have been a good start.
Tough luck if that's too politically incorrect and "insensitive" for any of you.
Good morning ARMSF,
Please include a "Fool" also, who thought a rabid wolf would befriend him.

I thank the soldiers here when we get into conversations sometimes and they tend to go all "aw, shucks" on me and look down at the ground.
I think it's kind of cute. ;-)
That's better!
Rule #2 -- If you ever get the urge to travel to a dysfunctional Third World Islamic sh!t-hole like Iraq, see Rule #1.
You again. I'm sure glad I don't have to answer to you.
But I admire your eloquence. < /sarc>
Sad... tragic irony. But a total Darwin.

I thought of you, and my crass comment yesterday, I'm sorry if that was too graphic. I just saw that he wasn't beheaded, according to Yahoo.

'AHHHHHHHH by the beard of the prophet, may blessings and peace be upon him, I can stand it no longer. Mahmud, shoot the singing American'

I posted this thread the other day. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1593064/posts
The pastor in reference would fit in just fine in the CPT organization. When will these people learn?
The top question on the cpt site is: What would happen if Christians devoted the same discipline and self-sacrifice to nonviolent peacemaking that armies devote to war?
What happens to them? Like Tom has learned, they get tortured and murdered.
>>'AHHHHHHHH by the beard of the prophet, may blessings and peace be upon him, I can stand it no longer. Mahmud, shoot the singing American'<<
Now that's funny..sad (not really), but funny!
May he rest in peace.
This poor misguided soul was giving aid and comfort to the enemy and the enemy destroyed him. Maybe other peace-niks will learn the lesson that you can't deal with the devil.
No the root cause of the abductions is that the people are THERE and targets for abduction.
A check of my home page will hopefully reassure ya I just posted links to this turds sedition.
Stay safe !
Mr. Fox died doing what he believed in. Enabling terrorism.
From his sponsor:
Current Violence Reduction Projects
Arizona a seasonal presence along the Arizona/ Mexico border since 2004. As part of a campaign to challenge U.S. immigration policies that result in hundreds of migrant deaths in the dessert every summer, team members conduct cross-border prayer vigils, remain alert to vigilante threats and monitor border patrol officers treatment of migrants.
Iraq a Baghdad-based presence since October 2002. Team members accompanied the Iraqi people through the U.S.-led 2003 war and continue during the post-war occupation to expose abusive acts by U.S. Armed Forces and support Iraqis committed to nonviolent resistance.
CPT embraces the vision of unarmed intervention waged by committed peacemakers ready to risk injury and death in bold attempts to transform lethal conflict through the nonviolent power of Gods truth and love.
He was executed by the henchmen of the man he supported. Ping.
You take care. Ya hear?
The frafting of religion into Marxism will ensure that many of them will never learn since it magnifies gutter ideology to become world-view, philosophy and eternal purpose. These freaks are in it for the long haul and the apostate seminaries are churning them out by the thousands. If we want peace in Iraq, maybe we should bomb liberation theology seminaries?
Well, I might not have stated it in exactly those terms, but I agree with your basic conclusions. This deluded, rootless and anti-American man sought, and got, his own death.
What was Tom Fox's religious denomination?
Police: U.S. hostage shot, tortured
But then, that's no real surprise to most of us.
: )
I wonder if his family was against his trip. I bet if they were, they're pretty mad at him right now.
