Your comment is the fallacy of petitio principi. I don't see why such huge amounts of tax dollars should go to support the vast Liberal Arts apparatus which dominates most universities in order to support a small engineering school perched welk-like on its back. Two thirds of the tax gobbling state universities could be easily eliminated with no loss to the culture or the economy. Alternately, two thirds of any given public university could be given the same treatment. They are the breeding dens of the Anti-American Left. Personally, the only thing I would miss would be the football teams. But most of those are semiprofessional anyway.

Actually, I was asking whether you included engineering in that. I wasn't sure. It really annoys me when people don't differentiate between worthless programs such as womens' studies and useful pursuits such as mechanical engineering.
