It was port deal with national security implications and Congress intervened. Foreign investors won't blink an eye in an attempt to enter our market.
Hit keyword ports and educate yourself.
FYI --- Jewish Schumer first played the Israeli card.
_Safety problems were not limited to overseas ports. A warehouse in Maine was graded less secure than any in Pakistan, Turkey or Brazil. "There is a perception that U.S. facilities benefit from superior security protection measures," the study said. "This mind set may contribute to a misplaced sense of confidence in American business practices."
_No records were kept of "cursory" inspections in Guatemala for containers filled with Starbucks Corp. coffee beans shipped to the West Coast. "Coffee beans were accessible to anyone entering the facility," the study said. It found significant mistakes on manifests and other paperwork. In a statement to the AP, Starbucks said it was reviewing its security procedures.
_Truck drivers in Brazil were permitted to take cargo containers home overnight and park along public streets. Trains in the U.S. stopped in rail yards that did not have fences and were in high-crime areas. A shipping industry adage reflects unease over such practices: "A container at rest is a container at risk."
_Practices at Turkey's Port of Izmir were "totally inadequate by U.S. standards." But, the study noted, "It has been done that way for decades in Turkey."
_Containers could be opened aboard some ships during weekslong voyages to America. "Due to the time involved in transit (and) the fact that most vessel crew members are foreigners with limited credentialing and vetting, the containers are vulnerable to intrusion during the ocean voyage," the study said.
_Some governments will not help tighten security because they view terrorism as an American problem. The U.S. said "certain countries," which were not identified, would not cooperate in its security study "a tangible example of the lack of urgency with which these issues are regarded."
Clearly, it was Schumer.
LOL! You should be ashamed to have to base your worldview on what the UN does.
The UN is feckless and irrelevant, both in the short and long term.
Again there is nothing wrong with what the editorial said. Dont try to make the Editoral JEW hating stuff. Its quite clear with any one with a hight school education that the Editorial is not Jew Baiting Again it was a issue here. How can you deny it. Again I give them credit for bringing it up. Again alot of goofus folks here

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FROM JOSEPH FARAH'S G2 BULLETIN UAE's terrorist connections Is port deal a threat to national security?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: February 23, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern < p> While most Americans are instinctively opposed to turning over control of six major U.S. ports to a foreign, Arab-owned company, they are also blissfully unaware of the country's ties to terrorism generally and al-Qaida and the Sept. 11 hijackers specifically, reports Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.
But these links are no secret.
As far back as 1999, U.S. intelligence spotted Osama bin Laden at a desert training camp in Afghanistan for about a week. There was an opportunity to destroy the entire camp with cruise missiles. But the operation was called off because an official aircraft from the UAE was spotted, along with members of the royal family.
It turned out bin Laden was hunting with the princes of the UAE. Concerned that the princes might be collateral damage in a strike, the mission was called off. Two years later, 3,000 Americans were killed as a result.
In addition, at least two of the 19 hijackers were from the UAE. The UAE was one of only three countries in the world to recognize the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. UAE banks have also been found to be a source of terrorism financing before 9-11 and after. The UAE has proved less than cooperative with American investigators tracking that funding.
How many votes has Dubai voted against the US?
I know its amazing. This relationship with the UAE is too important for stupidity to hurt it in any way. I going to call my Congressman again on MOnday and asked if he has thought anymore on this subject since I called he last week
Yet we still have dissenters here who are stuck on stupid, despite the facts. Dissent, but be honest about it: fear.
FR is infiltrated by DUmmies.
Good grief. You are not open to facts.
Did you get a chance to read the report from the World Bank on the future of international shipping? I was amazed at just how clueless so many are on the way that industry operates. Duncan Hunter should be ashamed.
May I borrow your tagline? Or at least remind you of it?
Are You referring to the editorial. Are you denying what the that the guy wasnt asked a ton of questions about it in congress. Are you denying that Sean Hannity was screaming Israel at the top of his lungs every days to his millions of fans. It was all over the place. The editoral said that issue needs to be explored. I give them credit for that. Again no need to make a Editoral some Jewish Conspiracy case when it is not
I demand some consistency in your point of view. Based on what you said, you support one of two policies toward the Middle East, and muslims in general:
1. Remove our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan immediately. Close our bases in Turkey, Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, Turkmenistan and any other Muslim majority country. Recall our ambassadors. Implement an complete embargo. Starve Islam out of existence.
2. Commit whatever men and materials necessary to conquer the entire Muslim world. Start immediate bombing campaigns against Muslim capitals and holy sites. Raze every mosque. Inter any and all non-citizen Muslims in the United States. Burn Islam to the ground and scatter its ashes.
I tire of half measures. Which is it going to be?
I really think you're being overdramatic.
Actually, many of you are being over-dramatic.
