I try to see that portion of the program before commenting on what was said, so it took until after ten mountain time to put it into words. But, I sometimes do wait until later on to post.
I agree with you on Republicans having a plan. That's been lacking with some on our side here in Denver and we're working to make sure candidates realize the need to have plans and positions we can promote. And, you're right. No plan does not beat no plan. We have to be able to say here's what we propose and why, and then ask what the other side proposes? Me Too is not a viable candidate position.
Nor can Republican candidates simply say "I'm a Reagan Republican" or "I'm a Bush Republican." More than ever before our side is saying "this is what 'I' believe in and would do."
I tend to wander paths that may or may not intesect with the issues de jure. I was pretty well satisfied on the ports matter on or before Feb 19.
But your "pain on the receiving end" reminds of your "100% of containers are checked for radiation" thing from last week ...

FWIW, the reason I look into stuff like that is to try to PREVENT false memes from spreading, and is not in any way a matter personal. Some of them are already falling into that trap, accusing the DEMs of having no plan. That sets up a wave of back and forth that is void of substance, gives the DEMs a chance to accuse the GOP of being wrong, but without having to show their plan.
It takes uncommon discipline to persistently address opposition attacks in substantive terms.

I don't know if I would characterize this as being too passive. Everything you said is correct but we tend to be more reactive than proactive. That's good in many cases, such as GWB giving Democrats the rope to hang themselves with, but it also means we too often fail to promote what we know is the best course for the country. Both approaches have their benefits and problems but most Freepers seem to prefer more proactivity.

Exactly who are you getting your information from and why aren't you sourcing it here? Without sourcing it's kaka. With sourcing it's valuable to this entire community. And who said the President had to agree to a hold? Where, exactly did that requirement come from? Sounds bogus to me.

Notice the Republicans who do not propose plans or positions. These tend to be candidates who are not convinced they can be conservative and win or among our RINO class.
Good conservative candidates, and I'm drawing from experience with ours in Colorado, are all articulate in what they stand for, why, and what they would do. Local Democrats do have a plan. What we do on a local level is to help Democrats explain what their plan would mean to the average voter.
No, it doesn't always work. Still, until we learn something better this seems to be a logical way to present our side.

We do seem more pro-active for good reasons. either we do it now with not so much turmoil and emotional energy overload on us or we do it later when we have to drop everything to beat away the Anti American Socialist Armies descending on us. Conservatives are good at preparing for the Future, this is just another way like Buying Car Insurance for getting in on IRA's, but we would prefer to be left alone to lead our lives the way we see fit.
