There is some dispute over exactly what he promised.
He says he supports pretty much every increase in penalties for violent crime, and has done so going back to his days as Governor -- and so would support hate crime legislation as long as it didn't lead to some kind of civil rights status for gays.
Last year he said, you know what, the courts are taking this way too far, I'm not supporting the gay hate crimes thing any more. Yeah, he shoulda seen that coming.
I like your moniker [and I peeked at your state], you sound as good as anybody else who is declared. Give it a shot. 8)
BTW: It pays really well for very few days of "work". And the perks can be really great...if you don't get caught!
None on the short list are getting anywhere near the Oval Office unless G.W.B. invites them over for a photo op before Inauguration Day - 2009.
"Pence looks like a Democrat"
do you mean his political leanings or his physical appearance?
"Maybe Pence can do a Jeffords!"
please elaborate on this.
mike pence is a reagan conservative with a lifetime rating of 99 from the american conservative union.
Oh no, Mr. Bill! ><
"Pence is not with the Republican Party..maybe he should move on over to the Democrats side."
LOL!!!
tell that to rush limbaugh, he picked mike pence as man of the year as well as human events online. additionally he gave a great speech at CPAC....and as i said before he has a lifetime rating of 99 from the american conservative union.

That picture is worth 1000 words.
Sen. George Allen
Nearly every time I see a photo of John McCain, I think of Charlie Chaplin.
I guess..I need to give Pence another look.
Ditto.
Right now I feel a real Dark Horse may energe down the line. I am looking at Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina.
I don't know. We have more competent governors to choose from than they do. The only guy that I thought may have a shot was Richardson in NM for the D's. He recently screwed that up for himself with some sexual harrassment thing.
Senators and Congressmen make lousy Presidential contenders - too much baggage and recorded votes. Governors have actually had the job before - each state being its own putatively sovereign state.
Here's a big one:
Hagel is the real loser in this bunch, next to the other media hound McCain. They are the real RINOs that in no way shape or form should get the nomination.
Dems are going to make a big fuss, then run Hillary. Pretty sure about that.
McHagar goes down in flames.
:-)
On the House side for the year 2004, Pence and Tancredo were rated at 100% by the ACU (American Conservative Union).
