In my home state, the State Reps. get a taxpayer provided car, and mileage reimbursement.

Are these vehicles leased and based in Washington D.C or are they for they local district office locations? My guess is D.C. but don't know.

When all of Congress rides around in Mini-Coopers, I'll get rid of my Cadillac, not before!

Each Congress Critter gets a budget amount from Congress to run his or her office. The lease car is paid for out of the office budget.

I would have to assume the rule is that the car has to be US made (otherwise they'd all be driving Ferraris).

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except CONGRESS.

I could dream up a deal where I pay more for a taxpayer-funded car and then pay less for another car out of my own funds. I say fire every single one of them.
