Those of you hoping to salvage a sliver of hope from the Jay Bennish fiasco, forget it. An atrocious teacher is the emphatic victor after a student exposed his political ranting, and there's no point in trying to sugarcoat reality. Overland High School principal Jana Frieler only confirmed this already obvious fact Monday when she welcomed Bennish back "to the Blazer family" while implying that the affair in large part had been a media concoction.

The Hatch act outlaws public employees campaigning on government time or property. It shouldn't be hard to bring up charges in the next election.
